IK (Incredible Kids) and GrR

Dear Joyland Guardian/Parent,

Your child is invited to IK on Friday afternoons here at West Rand Lutheran

Community Church (WRLCC).

IK starts: This Friday 1 March

Last IK for this quarter: Friday 15 March (3 IKs in total).

IK is a FREE Christian Club for children GrR-Gr6. It is a ministry of the WRLCC and
children from Joyland (GrR), Riverbank, WRLCC and the surrounding primary
schools join us every Friday from 2:30-6:00pm.

If your child is not a Full Day Child: Your child is welcome to stay after school on
an IK Friday. Your little one will stay with the Full Day children, in our care until IK
starts at 2:30pm. [We do provide a snack and juice at IK at about 4:10pm, free of
charge.]

What is IK? IK is a special faith-based program. We prepare special games, crafts,

and activities for the children. We present a Bible story in an interactive and
creative way, and we discuss/apply the story in a smaller, age and gender related
group. We lead the children in vibrant praise and worship and all other
expressions and disciplines of faith. We promise that we will “wow” your child.
About 120 volunteer workers from the WRLCC meet weekly on a Tuesday (from
5:00-7:00pm) to prepare this exciting and entertaining program for the children.

Fetching time and transport: I want to plead with you not the fetch your child
early. Give your child the benefit of experiencing the entire program; you will

soon see the benefits of this ministry in your child’s life. Please fetch your child at
6:00pm sharp. At 6:00pm the IK co-workers need to clean up and pack away as
the teenage ministry, Holy Culture starts at 7:00pm. There is transport available
for parents who are completely unable to fetch their children. You may contact
our Transport Manager Piet Lepuru: 072 784 0870. Please contact him to see
whether you would qualify. Please arrange for transport from next week for your
child. There are Transport Indemnities to sign, should your application be
successful.

Safety and care: I am aware that quite a few parents are a bit scared and
worried about sending their child to IK. Please note: ALL the Gr R teachers will
be accompanying your child throughout the afternoon. GrR teachers are all
assigned to GrR only and are responsible to help your child enjoy their time at
church. Teacher Michaela, Teacher Robyn and Teacher Jamie are all on duty.
Additionally, Britney, Nandipha and Danuschka will also be accompanying our
GrRs.

The GrRs sit alone on their own stands. Boys with boys and girls with girls. They
play freeplay games at Joyland away from bigger children. They have small
groups only as GrRs.

You may fetch your child directly from Joyland at 6:00pm.

We hope to see your child at every IK this year!
