Beach Party

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Creative Paper: SR011P Sand.
Scrap of Cream Card.
Scrap of Acetate.
Gold Label Stickers: ZL760U-51
Cafe Scene, ZL633U-51 Borders,
XL563U-01 Lettering and
XL441U-01 Cocktails.
Craft Knife, Ruler & Cutting Mat.
Sticky Fixers.
P.V.A. Craft Adhesive.
Card Mounts: SF01C-116 Black
and DSF08P-151 Wood Effect.
TO MAKE THE CARD:
Cut a 30mm deep strip of sand paper to fit across
the card as shown, giving it a rough top edge. Glue
this onto the lower edge of the card front.
Cut two pieces from the wood effect card, one at
50 x 85mm and one at 25 x 100mm. Glue the large
piece onto the card so the lower edge overlaps the
sand by about 10mm and at about 25mm from the
right hand edge. Keep the other piece aside for later.
Place a parasol sticker onto the card with the base
on the sand, the parasol should be about 5mm from
the top and left edges of the card.
Run strips of the gold glitter border down each
plank line on the wood effect panel on the card. Cut
two more border strips to 50mm long and add one
just above the wood panel at each side placing them
about 15mm in from the sides of the wood panel to
make the roof supports.
Cut a scrap of cream card to 12mm x 100mm.
Measure about 8mm in at each end on one edge
and cut to an angle using the marks to guide you.
Use sticky fixers to stick this to the top of the wood
panel overlapping it by about 5mm.
Stick a glitter border along the bottom edge of the
wood panel saved earlier. Make a mark along the top
edge each side at about 18mm in and cut to an angle
as before to make the roof. Stick this in place about
15mm from the top of the card using sticky fixers.
Stick a left facing bar stool and the spare parasol
segment onto a piece of acetate and cut them out.
Use sticky fixers to mount them onto the card, the
bar stool at the right edge and the parasol segment
over the middle section of the parasol.
Stick the cocktail stickers onto cream card and
cut them out. Glue into place on the counter top
by the bases only so the tops stand away from the
background. Add the sparkle and straws to the back-
ground card.
Place the letters to make the open sign onto a
piece of the wood effect card placed sideways and
cut to fit. Mount using sticky fixers. Add the remain-
ing lettering directly onto the card.
Left: The ‘cake stand’ design was made in a similar
way, but without the beach look. The wood effect is
from the brown kraft card (DSF08P-161). The very
scrumptious cakes are cut from simple shapes and
decorated with borders and dots then topped with
either pom-poms or gems.
