MEASUREMENTS
This pattern is made to measure, which means we will be
taking our own measurements throughout the pattern and
will not be following specific row or stitch counts. For guidance
with measuring refer to the photos below. (All references are
based on a size S/M)

Measurement A: Around the widest part of your bust.

Measurement B: from armpit height to where you want

yout top to end

@Karlijnscorner
Measurement C: Width/length of your squares. (slightly
stretched)

Measurement D: Measurement A ÷ C- 1 ( this will be the number of squares

you need in width)

Measurement E: Measurement B ÷ C ( This will be the number of squares you

need in length.

Measurement F: DxE = total amount of squares

SLIP KNOT
A slip knot is the complete beginning of your project.
This will create the first loop of your work.

@Karlijnscorner
Make a loop with your yarn, and pull through the end
attached to your skein through the loop. Put your hook
through the loop. To tighten your slip knot pull at the
short end.

FOUNDATION CHAIN
To begin your Foundation Chain make a Slip Knot and
tug on your working yarn to tighten it around your
hook. You might want to make your foundation chain
on one hook size bigger, to help with tension.

@Karlijnscorner
Yarn over your working yarn and pull through the loop
on your hook. Repeat these steps to create your
foundation chain, this is the beginning of most crochet
projects.

FINISHING WITH
BEADS
This is an instruction on how the finish off your work
with beads. I like to use this for corset back ties.

@Karlijnscorner
Pull your yarn through the bead, if this is difficult take
a darning needle and pull this through the bead (with
the yarn attached to the needle) instead.
Pull the bead over the original fasten off knot.

Make a couple of normal knots over the fasten off knot.

Once your knot is big enough push down the bead to
the end and cut off the access yarn, I like to leave some
tassels.

MAKING THE SQUARES
Squares:
Make a MR (alternatively, CH 4 and SL ST together)

Row 1: CH 3 (counts as a ST), DC 15 into the MR.

SL ST in the last CH of the beginning CH of the row.
You will now have a total of 16 DC, fasten off

Row 2: This row will be made with puff stitches. For the first puff stitch, you
should have a total of 5 loops on the hook when you pull the yarn through
to account for the CH. (for instructions on the puff stitch see the technique
pages at the beginning of the pattern)

Attach the second colour, CH 2.

@Karlijnscorner
Make a puff ST in your first ST
Continue making puff ST in all STs of the previous row. At the end of the
row, you will have a total of 16 puff ST.
SL ST to the last ST of the beginning CH of the row, Fasten off.

Row 3: This row is made with bobbles. For the first bobble ST you should
repeat 2 times instead of 3 to account for the CH.

Change to your third colour, attach the yarn between one of the puff ST of
the previous row. CH 3.
** YO, insert hook between two puff ST of the previous row, PUL.
YO and pull through two loops (2 loops on hook)*
Repeat * three more times. (5 loops on hook) YO and pull through all five
loops. CH 2 to lock in the ST.* *
Continue making bobble STs ** in every ST from the previous row. You
should have 16 bobble ST. SL ST together, fasten off.

ATTACHING THE
SQUARES
Sewing the squares together:
Now that you have all your granny squares it’s time to form the top
by sewing them all together. Do this by sewing the top strands of the
V created by the STs of both your squares together until they are
attached. Repeat this process until all the squares are attached.
Make sure all the sewn sides are on the same side. (wrong side).

Alternatively, Use SC or SL ST to attach the squares together.

Corset back:

Row 1: Attach your yarn on the side of the top, lengthwise. CH 1(

does not count as a ST) HDC across the row. turn

@Karlijnscorner
Row 2: * CH 3, SK 3 ST, SC * Repeat until you reach the end of the
row.
Alternatively, repeat row 2 once to make the corset a bit sturdier
Fasten off

Repeat on the other side of the top.

THE STRAPS

Make a CH long enough to weave into the back like a corset. This
is similar to how you would put in shoelaces.
Alternatively, either SL ST along the CH to make it sturdier, or
make your chain a couple SC wide. (similarly to the straps)
Straps:

Row 1: CH 5, turn

Row 2: SC Across, CH 1 and turn.

Repeat row 2 until you reach your desired measurement

Repeat all steps once for the second strap.

@Karlijnscorner
Attach the straps on the inside of the top. Make sure the straps are an
even distance away from the sides of the top.

weave in all the ends

you can finish of your corset strap by attaching beads if desired (see
instructions)
