SLIP KNOT
A slip knot is the complete beginning of your project.
This will create the first loop of your work.

@Karlijnscorner
Make a loop with your yarn, and pull through the end
attached to your skein through the loop. Put your
hook/needle through the loop. To tighten your slip knot
pull at the short end.
FOUNDATION CHAIN
To begin your Foundation Chain make a Slip Knot and
tug on your working yarn to tighten it around your
hook. You might want to make your foundation chain
on one hook size bigger, to help with tension.

@Karlijnscorner
Yarn over your working yarn and pull through the loop
on your hook. Repeat these steps to create your
foundation chain, this is the beginning of most crochet
projects.
HALF-DOUBLE CROCHET

The half double crochet (hdc) is one of the 6 basic

stitches in crochet, here's how to:

@Karlijnscorner
Yarn over and insert your hook into the next stitch, yarn
over and pull up a loop. Then yarn over and pull
through all the loops on your hook (3).
BACK LOOP SINGLE
CROCHET

The back loop single crochet stitch (blsc) is mainly used

to create ribbing. Here's how:

@Karlijnscorner
Insert your hook in the back loop only (back strand
from your V , created by a stitch) and pull up a loop.
complete your single crochet as normal.
MEASUREMENTS
Each square should be 15cm x 15cm ( You can adjust the size for your
squares as you seem fit)

Measurement A: Measure how puffy you want your sleeves to be, by

measuring the widest part of your arm (upper arm) and adding the desired
length to reach the puffiness you want.

Measurement B: Measure from your wrist to your shoulder, this will be

the length of your sleeves.

Measurement C: Measure around your wrist, make sure that the cuff will
still be able to go over the widest part of your hand.

@Karlijnscorner
Measurement D: Measure around the bottom of your cardigan
(technically this measurement should be 9cm x 15cm which is 135cm, but
this may vary)

Measurement E: Measure from the ribbing, across the neckline back to

the ribbing on the opposite front panel. (Technically this should be 7x15 +

INSTRUCTIONS
Now that you have all your parts it’s time to create your cardigan!
Always make sure that the right sides are facing each other when you
are sewing them together.

First, attach the front and back panels together, but make sure you keep
space to attach the sleeves. Sew the two squares of the front panel to the
two side squares of the back panel at the top to create your shoulder
seam. Then sew across the sides. I left the first 1,5 squares open to
accommodate for my sleeve later.

Do the same thing with your other front panel. You now have a vest.
Now we will attach the sleeves, but first, we have to attach the ribbing to
the sleeves. Depending on how puffy you want your sleeve to be you may

@Karlijnscorner
have to skip a few of your sleeve stitches to cinch in the sleeve. Remember
we want the right sides to be touching when sewing. To make attaching the
sleeves easier I like to use stitch markers to temporarily attach the sleeves
to the body part. Make sure the sleeve seam is facing downwards when
attaching them.

You’re almost done with your cardigan. You only have to attach the
remaining ribbing the same way we have sewn everything else together
and then you are finished
