Kim Tae-hyung is a singer and songwriter, born on December 30, 1995, in Daegu, South Korea.

The oldest of three siblings, Kim dreamed of a career in music since he was a child and convinced
his parents to enroll him in singing, music and saxophone lessons. It didn't take long for the
entertainment consortium Big Hit to sign him after he passed an audition and sought to exploit his
musical talents. That path ended when he was chosen to be part of the k-pop band, BTS, debuting in
2013 and assuming the artistic nickname V. He, along with the rest of the band, were recipients of

Kim Tae-Hyung (김태형) better known by his stage name V, is a South Korean singer, songwriter,
actor and one of the vocalists and dancers of BTS.

Kim Tae-Hyung was born on December 30, 1995 in Daegu, South Korea. He was born in Daegu,
but then moved to Geochang, where he spent his life until he moved to Seoul.

He has a sister, Kim Eon-Jin, and a brother, Kim Jeong-Gyu, and is the oldest of three siblings.

His parents were farmers, so Tae-Hyung was raised by his grandmother for almost half of his life.

His grandmother became the person closest to him, the person he shared his dreams with, trusted
and even complained to, until she sadly passed away.

Taehyung was a very cheerful child who was often adored by teachers. He was also very curious
and wanted to try everything, he had many friends and they used to play in the park every day until
dusk.

Everything changed when he got into music. Somewhere just before middle school, Tae started
nagging his parents to buy him an mp3 player, he started downloading music and by the end of
sixth grade, he had found his passion. He then learned that he wanted to be a singer, feeling that this
is the first time he had a real dream.

When his father asked him what he wanted to become in the future, Taehyung replied that he
wanted to become a singer. His father then, very seriously, told him, "If you want to become a
singer, you have to learn to play an instrument." And that's how he started playing the saxophone
for 3 years.
He gave up the saxophone because he wanted to concentrate on dancing. He entered high school
and started at a dance school.

About half a year into his freshman year, Big Hit held an official audition where he danced, sang,
rapped, did impressions and jokes. He was sure he had failed and even thought they were lying
when he got the call saying he had passed the audition.

In September of his junior year of high school, he moved to Seoul and transferred to a fine arts high
school. When he entered the RM dorm, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook were already there. Tae
became friends with everyone.

When it was finally decided that they would debut, V's existence was considered a secret weapon
and thus was hidden until the very end. Tae debuted on June 13, 2013 under the stage name V .

On December 19, 2016, the first episode of Hwarang, a historical Korean soap opera, was released.
In this, Kim Taehyung played the role of Seok Han-sung, the youngest hwarang of the group who
has a warm personality and gets along with everyone.

On multiple occasions Taehyung was selected as "The most handsome man in the world".

In 2017, Taehyung adopted Yeontan, his current dog.

BT21 was a collaboration of BTS with Line Friends in 2017. Taehyung created Tata, a heart-shaped
representative character, together with ARMY.
