As the COVID-19 pandemic happened, there’s a massive gap in the transportation system that
needs to be filled accordingly. Share your insights on the possible way/s for the jeepneys and
even another mode of transportations to adapt to all these changes. What do you think will be
the future of public transportation amidst the new normal or in the next years to come? Explain
your answer in no more than five (5) sentences using a situational illustration.

Pre-pandemic jeepneys, bursting with life, now paint a stark picture of the
transportation gap left by COVID-19. Bridging this gap demands adaptation: cashless payments
for hygiene and inclusion, stricter safety protocols for everyone's well-being, technology
integration for smooth commutes, alternative modes like cycling for congestion relief, and
collaborative efforts for equitable access. By embracing these changes, jeepneys and other
modes can transform into a safer, more convenient, and sustainable transportation system,
navigating the new normal and shaping a future where the streets hum with the lifeblood of a
connected society.
