COURSEWORK 2 - BILL OF QUANTITIES (BQ)

Important Dates:
Assigned date : 25th March 2024 (Monday) – Week 4
Submission date : 10th June 2024 (Monday) – Week 14

The objective of this coursework is to achieve CLO5, which is to develop students' knowledge, techniques and skills in preparing
Bill of Quantities (BQ) as part of tender documentation requirements in accordance with the Malaysian Standard Method of
Measurement of Building Works (2nd Edition) (SMM2).

The assignment mark of a group that fails to comply with the above deadline will be deducted at 2 points per day for five days.
After five days, there shall be no acceptance of the assignment unless otherwise accepted by the examiners on the particular
ground.

Instructions:
o This is a group assignment.
o Each group comprises a maximum of five (5) members.
o The findings from the study need to be presented in a Bill of Quantities (BQ) format.
o The BQ must be submitted as both a hard copy and a soft copy (I'Taleem).
o Plagiarism, including fraudulent or fabricated coursework, is a serious offence. A plagiarised work (submission that is
plagiarised in whole or part) will be penalised.

Marks:
5%

Task:
o Based on the drawings given during the measurement tutorials, you are required to prepare sections of the Bill of
Quantities (BQ) using Microsoft Excel and convert them to PDF format for the following works:
1. Doors
2. Windows

o Based on the drawings given during the measurement tutorials, you are required to prepare sections of the Bill of
Quantities (BQ), using Buildsoft and converted to PDF format, for the following works:
1. Internal and external finishes - Floor
2. Internal and external finishes - Wall
3. Internal and external finishes – Ceiling
