Expanded Grid by ROCHE MESHMAKER
Expanded Grid by ROCHE MESHMAKER
Manufacturer of complete lines for expanded mesh from laminated lead strip for high production
of lead plates for battery industry, for both positive and negative plates.
The expanded lead process able to make you cut the plates on the nodes
1. Vertical de coiler
2. Strip welder
3. Pre-puncher
4. Ultrasonic loop control
5. Expander
6. Tab blanker
7. Vertical mesh en coiler
8. Tooling
With our technology we obtain a fully consistent diamond on the plates to allow efficient
pasting. During all the expanding process, the mesh is strongly supported by a robust central
guide minimizing downtime.
With our quick change of tooling based on hydraulics clamps and spring balls, you can change
from car design to truck design for example in less than one hour.
The most efficient process to manufacture plates is expanded lead process by ROCHE
MESHMAKER
High speed manufacturing
Reliable and automatic technology
High quality level (fully in accordance with car manufacturer’s specifications)
Saving of lead (minimum 20 % lightest than cast process)
Laminated Tin Ca lead alloy is much more corrosion resistant
Less manpower
Continuous process
No fumes emissions, much less power needed
Grid Design
Description
Decoiling station
2 coils of lead strip on 1 pallet
Coil weight approx. 650 kg
Use centring device
Soldering station
Connection of 2 lead strips
Soldering by hand
Use only tin-solder PbSn (ratio 60:40)
Make sure connected strips have cooled down before entering the line
Process
Working temperature
The performer should be switched on at least 30 minutes before operation for warming
up.
Please note: insufficient working temperature causes incorrect plate dimensions (plate
height is too low)
Line speed
Always run the entire performer complex at full speed. The control panel should display
a value of 25.2 m/minute the working of performer unit and parting machine is adjusted
automatically.
The conveying speed of the tunnel dryer is preset and may not be changed.
The conveying speed of the stacking unit is preset at 30 m/min and can be slightly
changed to optimize stacking operation.
Connecting strips
To connect both strip ends, use tin- solder PBSN (60 - 40) of 2 mm thickness. The
soldering seam must be clean and both strip ends must be parallel.
