INDEPENDENT SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL CIVIC ORGANISATION (ISANCO) STATEMENT TOWARDS

2024 NATIONAL AND PROVINCIAL ELECTION WHICH STARTED IN THE 17TH AND 18TH MAY 2024 WITH
OVERSEAS VOTING.
The Independent South African National Civic Organization (ISANCO) an independent community based civic
organization constituted by South African residents, aimed at addressing social and service delivery challenges
in communities and protecting the freedoms, rights and values enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa Act
108 of 1996, with a political character due to its duly registration as such in terms of the electoral laws of the
Republic of South Africa.
The Organization was founded in November 2020, with a clear vision to liberate the masses of our people who
continue to live in abhorring conditions despite the 1994 breakthrough which at least provided hope that the
black majority will taste the fruits of freedom envisaged by the freedom fighters such as Nelson Mandela, Peter
Mokaba, Solomon Mahlangu and many others.

The developments towards the 2024 General Elections is worth reflecting.

As a first step towards economically liberating the marginalized masses of South Africa, the organization
registered for the 2021 Local Government Elections and secured a sizeable number of seats in different
Municipal Councils in the Free State, Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape Provinces with the aim of contesting the
2024 General Elections. That did not sit well with the real state captures.

The IEC, working with invisible forces successfully barred ISANCO from contesting the 2024 General Elections
in majority of provinces including the National Assembly (National Parliament). The whole process leading to
the exclusion of ISANCO from contesting the General Elections in majority of provinces has been tainted by
bias.

The short route leading to the exclusion of ISANCO from contesting the General Elections can be summed as
follows; the president of South Africa proclaimed the 29th of May 2024 as the day of elections and the IEC
subsequently issued a time table guiding all political parties as well as the nation of all steps leading to the
elections.

ISANCO, as an unrepresented political party complied with the requirements of registration by submitting the
required quota of supporters’ signatures, a deposit as well as the acceptance of nomination form by candidates
on or before the cutoff date and time and that included three provinces, being Eastern Cape, Free State,
Mpumalanga as well as the regional list of Mpumalanga and National list.

TREASURER GENERAL: Sandile Ngobeni, ORGANISING SECRETARY: Sedupa Masekoameng
The IEC published the lists of the candidates for inspection and objection and ISANCO realized that the
published lists fell short of the lists of Fee State and Mpumalanga as well as the regional list of Mpumalanga.
Same was viewed as an honest error on the part of IEC and was immediately brought to the attention of IEC.
Out of caution, an objection was simultaneously lodged with the IEC in line with the Electoral Act. During this
time, ISANCOs’ national lists was lying public for inspection and objection like all other lists and hence the party
president (Dr Bakoena S. Ramosie) was invited to the national ceremony of the signing of the code of conduct
(the National Pledge), surprisingly the Commission on the day of the ceremony withdraw its invitation to ISANCO
as they cited unlawful reasons that ISANCOs’ national list of candidate was published erroneously and the IEC
have since corrected the error by removing the organizations list.

That conduct alone by IEC, constituted self-help and is legally impermissible. The problems compounded and
the filed objection was dismissed without sound reasons. The organization lodged an appeal with the electoral
court and the matter was heard by the court on the 15th of April 2024. There was a dispute of facts and the court
issued directives that the IEC will provide a list on the 16th of April 2024 demonstrating that supporters of the
organization are deceased and the organization will thereafter verify same and submit its conclusions on same
on the 17th April 2024. Unfortunately, the electoral court saw it fit to flout its own process and issue a collective
court order on the 17th April 2024, dismissing five appeals, including the appeal of ISANCO. The organization
was left with no option but to approach the apex court with a leave to appeal the decision of the electoral court
in view of the fast approaching election date as well as the glaring mistakes of the electoral court.

We watched the application of the Labour Party with keen interest when it argued in the Constitutional Court
and the technical arears raised by the judges, which were at least covered in our application to the same court.

We since have noted with shock and disbelief that the Constitutional Court has issued an order on the 15 th of
May 2024 refusing ISANCO access to appeal the order of the electoral court.

It however did not come as a surprise because that court lost its role when Justice Dikgang Moseneke retired.
He was the last judge of that court that stood to protect the dignity of the court as well as the Constitution. Cry
our beloved South Africa.

The IEC, working with dark forces was successful in unlawfully excluding ISANCO from contesting the General
Elections. The apex court also failed to protect our rights as enshrined in the bill of rights, in particular, section
19 of the Constitution. The conduct of both the IEC and the Constitutional Court seeks to suppress the voices
of the people. Both conducts have made us to be more resilient.

In light of this events, the organization took breath and reflected on the current political epoch, calculated the
dimensions, assessed all the political players in particular those that share the same ideology of liberating the
people in general and the blacks in particular, and resolved to rally all its supporters behind Umkhonto Wesizwe
Party, as will be voting Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) Party in all the ballots where ISANCO is not appearing.

Moreover, we commit to ensure that ISANCO becomes victorious in the Eastern Cape Provincial elections
where the party is in the ballot. We therefore call upon ISANCO members and supporters to vote for the party
in the Eastern Cape Provincial ballot then vote for Umkhonto Wesizwe Party in the other two ballots, being
National and Regional ballots. In all other eight (8) Provinces, we will be voting Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party
in all three (3) ballots.

We further encourage all South African registered voters, Religious Organizations, Unemployment Forums, and
Traditional Leaders, to go out in numbers during election dates and vote for Umkhonto Wesizwe Party where
ISANCO is not appearing in the ballot. We need to ensure that change is realized as we strive towards building
a better South Africa where all its citizens enjoy staying in it.
