HUMAN RIGHTS ASSEMBLY 5 APRIL

Risika: A very good morning to Principal ma’am, Vice principal ma’am, teachers and all my dear
friends.
Today's assembly is brought to you by the student council on the topic: Human rights.

Priyam: Today, we gather to reaffirm our commitment to the fundamental principles that define
our humanity: human rights. These rights, enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights, serve as a beacon of hope, guiding us towards a world where dignity, equality, and
justice prevail for all.

Risika: Human rights are not merely abstract ideals; they are the cornerstone of a just society.
They recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of race, religion,
gender, or any other characteristic. They remind us that every person is entitled to live a life free
from oppression, discrimination, and fear.

Priyam: We must also recognize that human rights are interconnected and interdependent. The
right to education enables the exercise of other rights. The right to health care ensures the
well-being and dignity of individuals. The right to freedom of expression fosters dialogue and
progress. Therefore, we cannot pick and choose which rights to uphold; we must champion
them all, in their entirety.

Risika: Amnesty International is amongst many NGOs that campaign for the protection of
human rights all over the world. It promotes respect for all the human rights in the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights. It prepares and publishes reports on human rights.

Priyam: Now we'll have members of our student council share with you a few of our
fundamental human rights.

Priyam: As we look to the future, let us recommit ourselves to the principles of human rights.
Let us work tirelessly to build a world where every person can live with dignity, equality, and
freedom. Let us be the architects of a society where human rights are not just a lofty ideal but a
lived reality for all.

Risika: We would now like to invite Sonia ma’am on stage to announce our award winners.
