Gemstone Generator Gemstones
There are three methods to generate gemstones, d4/8/12 Name Price GP
each with their own level of variance.
1 Jade/Coral/Petrified Wood 5
Method 1 (high variance): 2 Jasper/Citrine/Quartzite 10
1. Decide price tier between Low, Medium
3 Petrified Wood 15
and High
2. Roll a d4 for Low, d8 for Medium, or d12 4 Amethyst 25
for High on the Gemstone table
3. Roll on the Gemstone Cut table 5 Agate/Beryl/Tourmaline 50
4. Multiply the base price by the adjustment, 6 Spinel 75
rounding down to the nearest whole
7 Tigers Eye/Obsidian/Cinnabar 100
Method 2 (low variance): 8 Garnet 250
1. Decide price tier between Low, Medium
and High 9 Opal/Turquoise/Topaz 500
2. Roll a d4 + the price tier modifier (+0 for 10 Ruby 700
Low, +4 for Medium, or +8 for High) on
the Gemstone table 11 Sapphire 800
3. Roll on the Gemstone Cut table,
4. Multiply the base price by the adjustment, 12 Diamond 1000
rounding down to the nearest whole
Gemstone Cuts
Method 3 (regular variance)
1. Roll on the regular gem table d4 Name Price ADJ
2. Roll on the Gemstone Cut table,
1 Uncut 1
3. Multiply the base price by the adjustment,
rounding down to the nearest whole 2 Cabochon 1.1

Example:
3 Radiant 1.25
Referee Thomas wants to generate a high value gemstone,
and doesn’t want to risk the dice swaying it too much
4 Brilliant 1.5
because he plans to use this gemstone to adorn something
later, and wants to add it’s value to the thing its adorning.
For a case like this Thomas wants to use method 2. To
begin with, he rolls a d4 + 8. Rolling a 1 (+8) the base
gem is a Turquoise with a price of 650. Next he rolls on
the cut table and rolls a 2, a Radiant cut. To get the final
value of his new gem, Thomas would simply multiply the
base price by the adjustment, so 650 * 1.25 = 812.5. Then
round down for a total value of 812 GP. So Thomas’s
final gem is a turquoise with a radiant cut, worth 812 GP.
Jewelry Generator
The method for generating a piece of jewelry is
similar to method 2 for gemstones:

1. Decide on a price tier, low, medium or

high
2. Roll 1d12 to decide what piece of jewelry
to start with
3. Roll 1d4 + price tier modifier (0, 4, 8) on
the Materials Chart
4. Generate a Gemstone using method two
and the same price tier
5. Roll a number of times on the
embellishment table equal to the number
listed in the jewelry table
6. Remove any embellishment modifiers that
should be ignored
7. Multiply all the embellishment adjustments
together
8. Multiply the base price of the jewelry type
by the Material Adjustment
9. Multiply the result of step 7 by step 8
10. If the jewelry type is an Earring, this is the
final value
11. Add the price of the gemstone generated to
the result of step 9. This is your final
value.
12. Round the value down to the nearest gold
piece.
Example:
Robert now wants to generate a high price piece of jewelry. First, he rolls a d12 for jewelry type, which comes up a 3
so. This is a Bracelet (300 GP). Next, he rolls for a material. Since he wants a high price jewelry, that is a d4 +8. The
roll on a d4 is a 3, adding 8 brings it to 11.
This denotes iridium (8.0). Thomas is going to use the Radiant Turquoise from the previous example (812 GP) for this
piece’s gemstone. Finally, Bracelets get two embellishment rolls. These rolls are 2d6 each. The first roll is a 7, so no
adjustment, the second is a 9, so this bracelet has some sort of detailed carving with it. Lastly, Thomas adjusts the price
of the bracelet by the material and embellishment adjustments and adds the price of the Gemstone.

300 * 8.0 = 2400

Then that value by the embellishments

2400 * 1.15 = 2760

Finally, we add our gemstone price

2760 + 812 = 3572

So Thomas has generated an “Iridium Bracelet that is adorned with a radiant cut turquoise. It is adorned with a series of
intricate lines carved around the band.”

Hoard Reduction
Thomas starts the process with the bracelet He just made
The primary use for these tools is to take an (3812 GP)

existing hoard. 13188 - 2595 = 10593
2. Generate a piece of jewelry, with a price

3. Subtract the price of the newly generated
Thomas did not want to be so generous as to generate that

*Sometimes, the border between tiers is fuzzy. It is
sometimes best to simply move down a tier
prematurely. This reduces the number of jewelry
pieces generated that must be thrown out.

Example
Referee Thomas now wants to reduce a hoard set to be
the prize of a night’s adventuring. Thomas rolls a hoard
of 12,000 GP and 1,000 PP. He wishes to reduce this
severely, as jewelry feels more natural as a pirate’s
secret hoard. Converting this value to just the gold
amount for now, the starting value is 17000 GP.
