WHAT IS MERCH BY AMAZON?

Merch by Amazon is a free to use print on demand platform also known as POD.
Merch, as it is commonly known, allows you as a creator to upload your own designs
and essentially license them to Amazon to print on T-Shirts, Long Sleeve Shirts,
Sweaters, Pullover Hooded Sweat Shirts, and PopSockets.

Merch is by application only and if this is the first time you have heard of Merch By
Amazon visit their website https://merch.amazon.com/landing and get familiar with
the website and policies and get your application in today! Below is a list of important
links and resources within the Merch By Amazon Platform make sure to review these
often as the content of them change frequently as well as the rules of the platform.

MY TOOLS
Merch Informer:

We have to start with Merch Informer! As a new seller, Merch Informer is the big
daddy of all the Merch apps. It’s a suite of tools to help research, create, and publish
designs on Amazon. It’s not free. Paid subscriptions start at $9.99/month. Merch
informer has a free three-day trial so you can give it a shot and see if you like it. Use
this code to get 20% off (vexemerch).

USPTO trademark checker:

This for your account health, use it when you are about to upload a design to merch
by Amazon. It is a USPTO. Of course, there are so many trademark checkers but
this one is recommended by Amazon.

Public Domain Vector: (Free)

This is one of my vectors resources I use to make designs. I get any vector and make
a design 4500*5400px with 300 Dpi. Adding some value and sell on merch by
Amazon! In my closed merch account (Tier 4K) I used to use this website just to fill
my slots! People will buy these designs if you have enough slots to fill with.

Creative Fabrica:

Creative Fabrica has high-quality designs, fonts, vectors, illustrations and more to
create an amazing designs for merch by Amazon and KDP. Use this resource with
Redbubble and Printful to sell more

3

2. KEEPA

Can I outsource my designs?

You can outsource your designs from Vexels. It is the design stock where everyone
can find whatever they need – whether you’re a Graphic Designer, a Merch-Seller
or an Agency, we’ve got something for everybody. On Vexels you can explore and
discover the best ready-made graphics for personal or commercial projects – from
versatile backgrounds, trendy icons and fantastic logo templates to print-ready
designs and everything in between. Or you can ask someone to do this job for you on
Fiverr.

Tip; I strongly advise you to learn to design. Use Youtube which has so many great
videos. By the way! you can use freepik.com but do not copy and paste, CHANGE
IT and come up with unique designs.
4
How to find great niches?

This is the easiest way how to try to get out of Tier 10, 25, and 100? We also used
this way to get to tier 500! Because 100 slots are not that much! We guess you are not
aware of the most events or public holidays in the USA so here are a few websites
we’re using for our research for public holidays or events!

https://www.awarenessdays.com/awareness-days-calendar/list/
https://www.daysoftheyear.com/
https://days.to/
https://www.cancer.net/research-and-advocacy/cancer-awareness-dates
http://www.lgbtlifewestchester.org/important_lgbt_dates

If you found your favorite event or holiday start making designs for it 3-4 weeks
before the event starts! Lower-tiers should spend all the slots for one niche with
different high-quality designs.
How to sell your shirts using Facebook groups?

Find huge Facebook groups with your personal Facebook account. You can choose
any kind of niche you want, maybe your favorite hobby where you have a lot of
knowledge. Your designs should be super fun and people react with a laugh or
love on your post! Contact the admins of the group if you are allowed to post
a shirt from amazon in their group. If they say “Yes”. It is your chance Great!
Do this step with 15-35 groups for months. Be kind and do not behave like a spammer.
Provide some value to these groups before you ask them to buy.

Tip; You can use this trick with quora.com and reddit.com. By the way, you will
find this https://www.reddit.com/r/AmazonMerch/ very useful to participate.
Can I buy my shirts?
Amazon will ban your account if they see that you buy your own shirt on your name
and address. So, This is a tricky and pricy way, set your shirts price at $13.07 and give
some money to someone you trust for example (your brother) some money to buy
your shirts on Amazon.

Note; It worked with me, but if you are not sure you can skip this for now. But
remember, do not review your shirts with your account.

How to use Merch Informer:

* Merch hunter (Pro-Tip)

Set the Settings as follow…

- Search by Bestsellers Top 500
- Marketplace US Category Merch By Amazon Shirts.

BSR Range: 200k - 400k - why? because shirts that are selling below 200k are
usually niches that are too saturated!

Price Range: $16.00 up to $19.99 because I don’t want to compete with shirts that
are selling for $13.99 I want to earn money. You can spy on the competitors’ prices
and decide upon that. Usually, I go for $13.07 up to $13.95

Leave the keywords box empty. Hit Search

Pick one that you could easily do by yourself and check the competition on Amazon.
Take a look at the listing numbers at the top left corner, the lower number is the
better. If all shirts are selling well with this quote or illustration you can easily go into
that niche!

Note: CHECK TRADEMARK and Google it to see it is not a famous

sentence used by an actor. BE SAFE! It is better to enter the niche you
understand.
Keyword Finder

Type the niche that you want to upload. Check the keywords with high search
volume and low competition. Use the important keywords in that niche. Write your
listing with those chosen keywords. Sounds easy? It is. that’s what I am doing like
every day or weekly. Okay! make your description easy to read with low and high
demand keywords.
* Merch Archive

My favorite tool. If you are preparing for next father’s day on 21 June? You want to
know what was selling last father’s day? Check it out and go to the date of the public
holiday and look what kind of designs or quotes was selling last year. You can check
out the keywords they were using in their listing and use them for your listing.

Tip; When writing your product descriptions, think like your customer. What words
would they type in the Amazon search bar? Do not use popular words like “t-shirt”
or “sweatshirt” Amazon will do that for you instead. You want to think about the other
words a person will use.

6
* Trend hunter:

Check out what is selling there on Amazon every day on the long term and is between
250-400k BSR. Write down the keywords.

Pro-tip; The autocomplete on Amazon is the easiest way to know what people are
searching for on Amazon. Start by typing a sentence and the autocomplete will give
you multiple results. All of those results could be a different design idea for you
to create. Do this enough times and you will have hundreds of ideas! I know what
some of you are thinking. “How do I know what words to start typing with?". That
is simple. Use the Merch Research tool to see what shirts are selling right now.
Start typing the phrase on that shirt into the autocomplete. For example, "This
is my pajama shirt" is trending right now. Just type "This is my" into the
autocomplete and see what else comes up. Easy?! One more thing, you have to
consider in mind that your researched niche should be lower than 10 pages.

I hope these tips help you get lots of ideas fast. The real work comes after you get
these ideas. Create a bunch of designs for each idea and upload them. All the ideas
in the world won't help you if you don't create something with it. Go and do! Keep
uploading!

PLEASE NOTE: All Merch designs are not with a person wearing a t-shirt. If so,
that’s mean are listed on Amazon by an independent seller. Learn How? One more
thing, merch designs come up with a sizing chart.

Tip; I have created a folder for t-shirt designs I like on Amazon, Etsy, and
Redbubble, and over the time I ended up having so many great designs not for
stealing designs but for inspiration. Please do this for a long time I am sure you will
have a great source of inspiration and ask yourself why these designs are selling?

That’s what I’ve noticed…

- Most of the t-shirts are selling between $17.99 to $19.99! Use this as a pricing
strategy.
- Do not offer more than 3 colors, because this will make the customer unable to
decide what to choose “a marketing strategy”.
- Designs with a graphic and text are selling more than other designs like only text.

How to use Etsy for niches?

Go to etsy.com and find Clothes - Men’s - Shirts - Look for shops with high sales, this
will help you find keywords and niches that are selling. Do not steal!

Many customers love the designs…

• Distressed or vintage designs. Go to merch research and click Search without any
keyword, you will get the high selling designs. Study them! What makes them
selling?

• Always set designs artwork 4500 * 5400px, and 300 Dpi “Dots per inch” this will
make it easy for you to upload your designs to other POD platforms like Etsy,
Redbubble, and Spreadshirt.

• Designs with pride.

• Arched text over or under an image.

• Blackshirts are selling more than other colors and white is the second one.

• Designs with clearly visible and readable text.

To make the most out of Merch By Amazon, you need to cross-niche and sub-niche.
This allows you to be more unique and stand out from the competition. You will drive
more traffic to your listings and make more sales with this strategy.

How to cross-niche? A trend with niche, for example, Christmas with Unicorn.
Niche with another niche or more like a sloth riding a Llama. Or niche with design
a distressed style (vintage sunset). How to sub-niche? use a laser target in a specific
market segment in high competition niches to find a gap like a Niche = dog and sub-
niche = pug dog. Do this for weeks, I am sure you will find your right customers,
come up with great designs for them.

Once you sell a t-shirt, do not set there and watching! Go for another design for that
selling keyword. By doing this, the algorithm will help your listing to get more
exposure to potential customers.

Please, double-check your spelling. Use Grammarly. It is an extension of Google

Chrome.

MY APPS
* Affinity Designer:
I mainly use Affinity Designer because it is not a one-time fee.

* Font Squirrel:
Where can I find free commercial fonts for merch by Amazon? Ok, This is what I use
to get so many fonts there.

* Over App (iOS):

This is an App to create designs for merch by Amazon and other platforms like Etsy
and Redbubble.

* GIMP:
The free & open source image editor just like Adobe Photoshop.

* Pinterest:
It is a great platform for searching for keywords and pinning my designs there. Over
time, you will notice you are gaining so many viewers to your content.

COLORS ARE THE SMILES OF NATURE

Not only these colors to use for print on
demand, but I have created these pallets
from Amazon and cooloers.co
You can create so many circles for sunset
with these colors.

Pricing Strategy By Tier

Tier 10 = Set Price at: $13.07

Tier 25 = Set Price at: $13.99
Tier 100 = Set Price at: $14.99
Tier 500 = Set Price at: $15.99
Tier 1000 = Set Price at: $16.99
Tier 2000 = Set Price at: $17.99
Tier 4000 = Set Price at: $18.99
Tier 8000 = Set Price at: $19.99 and here we go!

Even if you are in higher tiers you can start with $13.99 and after you make 2-4 sales
start pricing your shirts up. Reviews are the gold mine when you get reviews, start
pricing up.

The left digital effect

There is evidence that consumers tend to perceive just-below prices (also referred to
as "odd prices") as being lower than they are, tending to round to the next lowest
monetary unit.[2] Thus, prices such as $1.99 may to some degree be associated with
spending $1 rather than $2. The theory that drives this is that pricing practices such
as this cause greater demand than if consumers were perfectly rational. Read More.

$13.99 $14
Customers will go for this price. Customers will think they pay more

AMAZON WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE

Yes, you have heard that! What does that mean? Amazon will recycle the shirts to
give the new listing a chance. Make sure you come up with a high-quality design.
Don’t you know how to design? Use Creative Fabrica is a source.

Let’s see what is the high-quality design? In this screenshot, you can decide which
one is great? Or simply, will you buy your designs and wear them?

Look at the two shirts! The more you make your designs great, the more customers
will hit the buy button. This design is on all the canvas which is bigger, bold, and
attractive. Use some graphics.

Let’s start with something special. Open Google Chrome with incognito mode and
open Amazon. Set your address with this zip code 10001 and open another tab and
type https://myresearchbase.com/ select .com for US marketplace and type your
niche to see if your shirts come on the first page.

You can buy your shirts to boost the algorithm to push your shirts to the first page.
Make sure you do this step with low results to dominate that niche on the first page.

11
How to rank on the first page?
Now, let's say you upload a design and get accepted on Amazon. In this time, make
someone buy it immediately by typing its keywords in the search bar and filter the
results by newest arrivals. This will make the algorithm learn that your design is
good because getting a sale in the first hour.

Set price at $13.07 but remember to do this way with high-quality designs. This is
the best way to convince people to buy from you.

Thank you!
