• Identifies the parts of the fungus through a schema

(mentions at least 6 parts) and add images from reliable
sources.

Spores. tiny seeds used for reproduction; they are usually

Released into the air and settles on the substrate to spawn new
fungi.

Ring. Membrane under cap and around stem; rest one

The membrane on the gill cover of immature mushrooms, breaks
when broken
Hats are grown.
Stem. “pillar” supporting the mushroom’s cap.
Cap.Protect the upper part of mushrooms of different shapes and
colors
gills; it often resembles a headgear.
Volva. Remnants that completely cover immature cell membranes
As the trunk grows, fungus bursts.
Gill. Fertile spore-producing part of the mushroom, located under
the cap.
• Investigate about the penicillium notatum and describe the
importance of its discovery in the health of the human
being.
It is a filamentous white rot fungus found in soil samples.
This fungus is a plant pathogen and the secretor of several
hemicellulolytic enzymes produced to hydrolyze plant cell
walls and incorporate the products into their metabolism

It is the most famous penicillin-producing fungus and can

also produce some alkaloids, such as roquefortine C,
pumilaline and emodin. On the other hand, other Penicillium
species are beneficial to humans. Roquefort, Brie,
Camembert, Stilton and other cheeses. They are the result
of an interaction with some Penicillium species and are safe
to eat. Penicillin is produced by the fungus Penicillium, an
environmental mold.
• Make a representation of the food chain and highlight the
role of fungi.

the decomposer is the fungi

• Investigate the disease that can be caused by the

following protists in the human being.
Protist Disease
Leishmania tropica Leishmaniasis is a parasitic
disease that is found mostly in
tropics and you can get
infected by the bite of some
flies
Naegleria fowleri brain infection that destroys
brain tissue.
Trypanosoma cruzi the Chagas disease is caused
by the parasite Trypanosoma
cruzi, and it is transmitted to
animals and humans by insect
vectors
Entamoeba histolytica amebiasis is an intestinal
disease caused by this protist
Giardia lamblia Giardia is a tiny parasite that
causes the diarrheal disease
giardiasis.
