The Dutch book their summer holiday very early. For many Dutch people, the beginning of the
New Year is generally a good time to start planning their holidays.
According to research, the Dutch start booking their vacations much earlier than other
European countries, but early planning is something that Northern European countries have
in common, as opposed to the last-minute planning that is common in Southern Europe.
Besides going to sunny countries for their holidays, the Dutch are big fans of camping. Many
of them have trailers and in the summer they go camping in neighboring countries or in the
Netherlands.
Wherever they decide to go, one thing is for certain. Holidays are very important, and if
possible, they’ll go twice a year: in the winter on a ski holiday and in the summer to a warmer
climate.
