The Occult and Cursed Objects List

Posted on 27 Oct 2012 by Truth in Reality

There are numerous references to cursed objects in the Bible in both the Old Testament and
the New Testament and this article contains many highly relevant Bible references.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Tim 3:16-17)
The Occult and Cursed Object List itself begins about halfway down this article.
What makes an object cursed?
Things that are likely to be cursed are anything to do with pagan worship including idols
themselves, and places of worship, temples, gardens, etc. and images of them.
“You have praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see
not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your
ways, have you not glorified.” (daniel 5:23)
“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. they have mouths, but they speak
not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but
they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not:
Neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like them; so is every one
that trusts in them.” (Psalms 115:4-8)
“Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord God; repent, and turn yourselves
from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.” (Ezekiel 14.6)
The removal of Christian values, including prayer and worship from institutions, especially
from schools brings a curse. Adultery, sodomy, polygamy, sex outside of a marriage as God
ordained, and all forms of sexual perversion and other sexual sins are liable to be cursed.
Anger, hatred and revenge, unforgiveness and any such negative emotions can also bring a
curse.
Violence and all things associated, such as weaponry and martial arts, etc. Anything to do
with death cults, such as hell’s angels, skull and skeleton figures, zombies, especially animal
sacrifice and blood, or murder.
“All they that hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8:36)
Objects can be cursed for various other reasons, such as their history, a connection to
unholy soul ties, or due to their connection with the practice of sin in all its various forms.
Things can be cursed by people too, and some witches of various types and religions and
peoples have a propensity for cursing things. For example, the Red Indian tribes cursed
their sacred lands, especially burial grounds. These curses are real and can be dangerous.
Also, places, mountain regions, or lakes, etc. with names including words like ‘hell’, ‘devil’
or ‘death’ have often been found to be dangerous.
The point has been made that the Bible says God made everything and saw that it was good
which is true. That was before man brought sin into the world and God cursed the earth:
“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast
eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the
ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and
thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of
thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken:
for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” (Genesis 3:17-19)

1
Jesus came to expose the works of the devil and redeem us from that curse in the cross and
His resurrection, but it is up to us to stop practising sin and serving the devil:
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly,
triumphing over them in it.” (Colossians 2:15)
It is not possible to purify cursed objects
God Himself has cursed anything which is or has been used in idolatry, no matter how
‘valuable’ it may seem to be, due to perhaps age or rarity. This would include any materials
derived from it, such as wood, stone, gold or silver, even its ashes. According to the Bible, it
is only ‘living souls’, that is people and animals – ‘nephesh’ meaning any creature that
breathes – who are not subject to that rule.
“The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or
gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an
abomination to the Lord thy God.” (Deu 7:25)
“Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.” (Job 14:4)
There are degrees of curses
Objects or symbols can be cursed to various degrees according to the item itself, its origins
and history, also depending on its perceived value to the owner and the level of idolatry
involved. Things can be particularly cursed if they are directly idolatrous, or directly
connected with or used in idolatry, or if they are somehow profane, or directly connected
with evil, the devil and satanism, and so on.
Even if someone did not know that objects – or symbols – were cursed or did not know they
had them in their home or garden, or in their workplace, or even garage or transport, they
can still be used by the demonic just the same. Although there would likely be a difference
in the degree to which they are able to be used, which can be, for example, according to how
much an object was valued or revered, or not.
How much something is cursed would also depend on what sort of value system is attached
to them which will likely be in conflict with the value system we are given in the Bible and
therefore not of God.
Cursed objects are mentioned in the first and second commandments and
elsewhere in the Old Testament and also in the New Testament
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in
heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou
shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous
God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love
me, and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:4-6)
“I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my
praise to graven images.” (Isa 42:8)
See the end of this article for “What is a graven image?”
“Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, LEST THOU BE A CURSED
THING LIKE IT: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a
cursed thing.” (Deu 7:26)
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and TOUCH
NOT THE UNCLEAN THING and I will receive you.” (2 Cor 6:17)
“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil.” (Pro 8:13)
What is a curse?

2
A curse can affect any and every area of our life. It can open demonic doorways – also
known as portals or gateways – provide licence grounds or legal rights, to demons to harass,
torment and destroy, in all the ways that they do.
It has been said that the devil does not come to one’s life uninvited. He follows protocol.
Someone has to have something belonging to Him. For example, in horror films we see a
vampire has to be invited in, he can’t just walk in and certain things will prevent him. It may
be something we brought have brought into the house, something or things we have done,
or something or things we haven’t done that we should have. It could also be due to
ancestral iniquity – sins and the results of sin – or it may even be the place itself as there are
places that are cursed or the previous occupants and things they did there. Whatever the
cause, the remedy is the same – deliverance (from evil), aka spiritual warfare.
The devil and his demons are expert legalists and deceivers and are always looking to get a
toehold, a foothold, a stronghold and then a stranglehold in people’s lives. Getting cursed
objects and symbols into people’s homes or gardens and lives while blinding them to it, is
one of their main methods of achieving that. Sometimes, in order to get deliverance, we
need to find what or where those open doorways are, and shut them down.
The word portal does not appear in the Bible but that is what is meant by scriptures like
this:
“Neither give place to the devil.” (Eph 4:27) [Not give some place, or a little place, but give
NO place.]
“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: For we are not ignorant of his devices.” (2
Corinthians 2:11)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Pet 5:8)
Other Bible versions say: “Be vigilant”, “Be alert”, “Be on your guard”, “Be clear-minded”,
“Be watchful”.
“But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to
God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup
of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the
table of devils.” (1 Corinthians 10:20-21)
The use of occult symbolism by the occult arts which is so prevalent today is also to do with
providing doorways or portals in order to channel invisible powers and gain access for the
demonic. For example, we sometimes see in a horror film a pentagram is drawn or chalked
on the floor to summon a demon, or even the devil himself.
We also have an example in the Ouija board which is sold as a game where people can speak
to the dead, when the Bible expressly forbids us to try to contact the dead. In fact, it is not
possible to use an Ouija board to communicate with the dead, but only with demons. Ouija
boards are very dangerous because they can open doorways or portals for demons to gain
access. It is not recommended that anyone should watch it but there is a video on Youtube
about possessions caused by use or possession of an Ouija board and many other similar
accounts can be seen on the internet.
Just going to a seance, having our tarot cards read, consulting a fortune-teller, reading
astrological horoscopes in a newspaper or magazine, or watching a horror film has the
potential to open doorways.
God has asked us to hate evil for good reason:
“Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.” (Romans 12:9)
“So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the
word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar
spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the Lord:” (1 Chr 10:13-14)

3
“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from
among his people.” (Lev 20:6)
“And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto
wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living
to the dead?” (Isa 8:19)
“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by
them: I am the Lord your God.” (Lev 19:31)
Should we be afraid of evil or the devil, or demons?
In the Bible God tells us hundreds of times not to fear and this too is part of spiritual
warfare:
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the
One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy
1:7)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not
be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” (Proverbs 29:25)
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I
will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)
The power of deliverance is in the name of Jesus
Jesus defeated the devil at the cross and He is the deliverer and that is why when we pray
we should always say “in the name of Jesus”. Jesus has all the power over the enemy and he
has also given power over the enemy to us when we use his name in faith and do what he
has told us to do. This is one reason Bible study is so important, because it teaches us so
many things that a Christian needs to know in order to fight the good fight.
Jesus showed us how to use spiritual warfare when each of the three times he was tempted
by the devil in the desert, he replied with scripture, saying: “It is written”. We can read
about this in scripture, such as in Ephesians 6:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore
take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation
of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in
the Spirit.”
Deliverance Ministry
Whether deliverance of not, take great care as these days most ministers, teachers and
pastors are teaching 98% truth and 2% deadly error. Listening to any sort of false teaching
or following is dangerous for a number of reasons, including that it can provide demonic
doorways.
Many will not live near a deliverance minister or a church that practices deliverance but
there is no need to travel a long distance. Although some might prefer to at least at first. We

4
should though primarily rely only on Jesus as He is the only Good Shepherd and most – if
not all – of the others will flee when the wolf comes (John 10).
Audio or video deliverances work perfectly also with this proviso. There are good and bad
deliverance ministers in the same way there are good and bad teachers of any type. Test the
spirits to see if they are of God because if it is not the Holy spirit, then it must be demons. It
is best to stay away from deliverance ministries that are too centred on deliverance and the
supernatural as our attention should be centred on the Gospel and on the doctrine of Christ,
not on demons or how to fight them.
When we learn about deliverance aka spiritual warfare we learn how to use scripture to
defend ourselves against the attacks of the Enemy, whether direct or – as often happens –
through other people. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and protect us and God has
promised in his word – which he has elevated above his holy name – He will take care of us
and though we may suffer or walk through the valley of death, we will come to no lasting
harm.
Christians can easily safely learn about spiritual warfare from the Bible and from elsewhere
such as sound teachers on Youtube or elsewhere on the internet, as long as it is firmly Bible-
based and not based on any secret or hidden knowledge or New Age thinking. We
recommend John Kyle of Oasis in Montana, who is a pastor of 35 years standing and there
are many recordings of his linked to at the foot of this page.
The better we know what the Bible says, the easier is it is for us to identify when someone is
teaching something that contradicts what the Bible says. Scripture cannot be broken and
the Bible never contradicts itself and the more one studies it, the more than becomes clear.
Having said that, if know what scripture says and follow it strictly, self-deliverance can be
the most effective of all because through Jesus we really have been given power over all the
enemy:
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down
of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against
the knowledge of god, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
Disposal of occult and cursed objects
Occult and cursed objects should be disposed of by throwing them in the trash. They should
not be sold or given away as any curse/s and/or accompanying demons can be passed on.
They can be burned but without any sort of ceremony and the ashes should be removed
from the property as according to the Bible even ashes of cursed objects can be cursed.
“Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned
them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces
of silver.” (Act 19:19)
“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted
by the flesh.” (Jud 1:3)
“I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall
not fasten its grip on me.” (Psa 101:3)
Blessings and curses
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may
live:” (Deu 30:19)
The blessings of obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy
God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the
Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings

5
shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy
God.
“Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the
fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy
kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt
thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord
shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall
come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
“The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou
settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth
thee. The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee,
if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
“And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they
shall be afraid of thee. And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy
body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the
Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
“The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land
in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many
nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the
tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto
the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to
do them: And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this
day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.”
The curses of disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:15-28)
“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to
observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that
all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
“Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. Cursed shall be thy
basket and thy store. Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the
increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in,
and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
“The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine
hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the
wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. The Lord shall make the
pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou
goest to possess it.
“The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an
inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and
with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish. And thy heaven that is over thy
head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
“The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come
down upon thee, until thou be destroyed. The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before
thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them:
and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. And thy carcase shall be meat
unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them
away.
“The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the
scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. The Lord shall smite thee with
madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: And thou shalt grope at noonday, as
the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be
only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.”

The Occult in Christianity
Today there are Christian churches where Satan is worshipped in secret, often at night
and/or in the crypt. This is not new but it happened in Old Testament times:
“He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great
abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my
sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations. And he
brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then
said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall,
behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they
do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable
beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about. And
there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst
of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a
thick cloud of incense went up.” (Ezekiel 8:6-11)
Occult and cursed objects and symbols are found in churches
It is not unusual to find occult, which includes freemasonry (which is witchcraft) symbolism
in Christian churches, in fact it is quite common. There is more about this below in the
section about occult symbols.
Christian literature and even a Bible that contains false doctrine or occult symbols can be
cursed to some degree depending on what it is. It is a matter of degree as to the purpose to
which the literature is put and the extent to which it is an object of idolatry.

To some degree, even ‘New Age’ Bible versions can constitute cursed objects, depending on
the accuracy of the translation. For example, the “New King James” Bible is not a new
version of the “King James Bible”, or anything like it.
For example, at the front of most but not all NKJV bibles there is something called a
triquetra which is considered to be one of the the oldest Celtic symbols. It is supposed to be
a trinity symbol or symbol of the Godhead but it is, in fact, a hidden ‘666’ one of the most
powerful satanic symbols.
[There is a great deal more information available about this version of the Bible and others
available on this site and elsewhere.]
The ‘triquetra’ (Latin meaning ‘three-cornered’) is a Celtic trefoil knot similar to the
‘valknot’ or ‘valknut’ or ‘knot of the slain’ which is an old Norse (Viking) symbol of Odin.
Odin has been said to be Satan himself and there is an ‘unholy trinity’ of Odin the father,
Thor the son and the spirit of power, Tyr.
