TO TALK ABOUT COMPLETED ACTIONS THAT
HAPPENED IN A TIME BEFORE NOW.
Uses Presentations are communication tools that can be used as demonstr, lectures, speeches, reports, and more. It is mostly presentedbfore an audience.
Examples:
You worked very hard.
They ate the entire pizza.
We were at the park.
NOTE
The past form of the verb to be are the following:
Is: was
Are: were
Am: was
REGULAR AND IRREGULAR VERBS
REGULAR
You just have to add -ied, -ed, and -d at the end of the verb:
-ied: for verbs that ends with y.
-ed: for verbs that ends in consonants.
-d: for verbs that ends in vowels.
Live - Lived
Stop - Stopped
Study - Studied

They change their spelling or they stay the same but change their pronunciation:
Eat - Ate
Begin - Began
Cut - Cut
Do - Did
Swim - Swam
Negative Sentences
Examples:
She didn't watch the movie yesterday.
We didn't go to the party on Saturday.
NOTES
You cannot use the past form of verbs (regular
and irregular) in negative sentences, questions
and answers because we are using DID on them.
You have to use the simple form (present) of the
verbs.
Did is the past form of do.
You can either use did not or didn't.
Yes/No Questions
Examples:
Did you read that book?
Didn't you play soccer?
Yes/No Answers
Positive: Yes + , + subject + did + .
Negative: No + , + subject + did not / didn't + .
Examples:
Yes, I did.
No, they didn't.
Wh- Questions
Examples:
Where did you go to school?
Who did you meet at the party?
NOTE
Remeber that when a question starts
with a wh- word, we have to answer it
with complete sentences (affirmative
or negative) of the tense.
FOR EXAMPLE
What did you do on your last vacation?
I went to Peru.
