THEME: EDUCATION FOR LIFE.
1. INTRODUCTION:
World vision –Uganda under sponsorship project planned to have child
development and participation Centre’s (CDPCs )where all registered
children come and associate with the fellows, learn new skills and
knowledge on different vocational ( practical ) skills of bakery, sewing and
re-usable sanitary pads etc.

Participants applied some practical skills like sewing, simple bakery in real
life which has helped them and sustained their wellbeing.

3. TARGET GROUP:
The activity aimed at childrens in the village of Kawami A, Kawami B,
Ssenge and Ntutumu in the parish of Kirokola
c. Literacy ( Malaria)
Participants were trained on :
Sounds And Sylables.
Reading Words
Meaning and importances of education
Phonemic awareness
Story writing
Types of education
Ones vision in future among others
d. Practical skills
Bakery skills
Sewing
Re-usable sanitary pad making
Guidance and counseling skills
Baithing Sponge making
Hair dressing etc
7. METHODOLOGIES USED
To facilitate thorough learning, understanding and conceptualization of the
content, the centre guides applied the following approaches and methods
which also aimed at the participation of all RCs. These included:
Demonstration
Observation
Participatory learning approach

Question and answers
Story telling
Guided discussion
Guided discovery.
8. MATERIALS USED.
Bibles and Qurans
Flip charts
Makers
Books and pens
Sugar, wheat flour, sweet potatoes. Cooking oil frying pans
Basins and buckets
Sewing machines
Braides
Cloths etc
9. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS.
Practically, children acquired the skills of bakery and sewing plus re
usable sanitary pad making
Guidance and counseling sessions were conducted

children of 10 years and above were trained on child protection
techniques and skills
Children attended the days of CDPCs in a good number.
10.CHALLENGES FACED
Some materials to be used for practical skills arrived late at the station
hence delaying the activities ( bakery and sewing) however arrived
and utilized by the children well.
The Centre lacked first aid box for the simple illness of children
11.RECOMMENDATION:
We do ask world vision to send the required materials to be used
during these activities earlier before the actual program start to avoid
inconveniences.
First aid box should also be provided to ensure safety of children
during these activities of CDPCs.
12.CONCLUSION.
In conclusion we thank World vision for such a golden opportunity being
given to the RCs, its care and love for the young generation and we pray that
God continues to bless its initiators, officials and workers for the good work
they do. We also thank the organization for changing many lives of people
that is to say the RCs Centre guides among many others.
