I. Lesson Preview/Review
1. Why should we be moral? Elaborate your answer.
A person's morals are formed by their ideals. For people, values are the cornerstone of their
ability to distinguish right from wrong. A person's actions are guided by a set of moral norms
that are based on their particular situation. A person's life experiences and opinions form the
basis of these beliefs.
Now, why is it important for us to be moral? It is important for us to uphold moral principles
since, in the absence of such principles, individuals lack any kind of compass to guide them and
their lives can appear aimless. As a result, we ought to be moral in all we do. Parents and other
caregivers have a responsibility to ensure that the strong moral principles they instill in their
children are adopted as a way of life. This will increase the likelihood that their children will be
accepted and respected by society. The pursuit of morality is also motivated by a desire to
improve our lives and make them more fulfilling. Its purpose is to present us with a unified
vantage point from which we may reach a consensus on the actions that are appropriate for each
and every one of us.
