He was trying to show how Edwards eerie dark lifestyle is completely different to the
preppy lifestyle hes forced to live in

Jim, because he always challenges the storyline

7) How is this story similar to the fairytale, “Beauty and the Beast”? How is it similar to
“Pinocchio?
Well, beauty and the Beast is a classic love fairytale about a girl who adventures
outside of her comfort zone to fall in love with some who is not easy to love.
 8) What do you think motivated the “inventor” to create Edward?
Maybe he was feeling out of place or non expepted so he made a chacter that was
different as an insoration from his own feelings

9) Look at the way Edward is dressed both before and after he meets Peg.

10) Why do you think he tears his clothes off after Jim accuses him of hurting Kim? What
does this symbolise?

He might feel that he does not fit in at all so hbe rips off the last piece of memory that can
remind him of being “normal”
