Title: Choosing a suitable project

1.1

As I have to choose a suitable project, I will have to proceed with it systematically. Firstly, I will
which research method I used. Thirdly I will have to discuss about my findings regarding the 3
ideas and then based on the results I will be explaining in my conclusion which ideas I have
rejected and why, which idea was chosen and why it was better than the 2 other ideas.

For my research methodology, I have used primary resources such as questionnaire in order to
know which idea is suitable for my project. By the help of the questionnaire, I was able to
conduct the research at school and put all the necessary questions mostly closed ended
questions, regarding the three ideas from which I received a clear feedback which idea is
suitable for my project.

1.3.1 Idea 1

Cupcakes
As it is easy to make it, it takes about 30 minutes to bake the cupcake. Cupcakes are at an affordable
price, as teenagers mostly prefer it. Since teenagers like to eat pastries, they prefer to eat cupcakes,
as it is available in different flavours. As there is always high demand for cupcakes, the business
would be able to make a maximum profit and will be able to use it to expand the business.

However, it requires many ingredients, which sometimes may not be easy to buy since it might not
be available, or it may be too costly. When eating too much cupcakes, it will lead to health issues
such as diabetes as cupcakes contains many sugar ingredients.

1.3.2 Idea 2

Pizza
Pizza consist of vegetable that is suitable for a good health and people can take it as a balanced
meal. Most people prefer to eat pizza as it contains chicken and brings a good taste in the pizza.
Since pizza is a well-known product, it will be easily sell. As pizza is a ready-made food, it is an easy
food for teenagers as well for working people to consume it, as they just have to eat it.
ON the other side, we have to prepare many ingredients, which is a time consuming product. Many
people refer to add extra cheese in their pizza that will cost them more money. As some people are
vegetarian, the price of the vegetarian pizza will be lower than the non-veg pizza and due to this, the
income will be decreased. By consuming too much pizza, it will lead to health complication such as
obesity. Since there are too many pizza companies in the market, there might be a decrease in our
customers as well as in our income.

1.3.3 Idea 3

Fruit Juice
Fruit Juice is very easy to make as I have only to squeeze the fruits and mixed them with other
ingredients. It does not consume a lot of time and can be ready within 20 minutes. Fruit Juice is a
healthy juice and mostly teenagers who go to gym and who are health conscious prefer to intake
Fruit Juice. Elderly people also like Fruit Juice as it helps them to maintain their health. This will
cause a high demand through the year

Nevertheless, it needs a variety of fruits which may be costly or may not be available depending the
seasons. Since there are many competitors in the market, other firms can grab the opportunity and
introduce a new product that might be better than fruit juice. Putting too much sugar in the juice
will lead to health problems such as diabetes and it will have a rapid impact on elderly people.

The idea 1 ‘cupcakes’ and idea 3 ‘fruit juice’ were the two ideas which I rejected. The idea 1 was not
a suitable project as the cost for the cupcakes was beyond my budget. As there are different flavours
of cupcakes, it requires a huge quantity of time to prepare the ingredients. With the help of the
questionnaire, I got an idea about the price that people are willing to buy my cupcakes. However, if I
go on with the cupcakes idea, I will not be able to purchase all the good quality ingredients and my
project will not be successful.

As for the third idea ‘fruit juice’, there is not a high demand of fruit drinkers. I will require a variety
of fruits, which is in high demand, but they will not be available due to the seasons. As there is a
new product has been introduced in the market, which is better than fruit juice, I will have to
struggle a lot just to sell a few cup of juice.

I have decided to opt for idea 2 ‘pizza’ as pizza is a famous product and everyday there is a high
demand of pizza. Both teenagers and working people like to consume pizza, as they have just to
purchase the pizza and eat it since it is a readymade food. That is why I have opted for the idea of
pizza.

ENTREPENEURIAL SKILLS

Negotiation skill
So as for my enterprise project to be successful, I will have to use entrepreneurial skills so that my product will
have a great sale. As for my enterprise project I had chosen pizza, where I had to sell my product at school I will
have to heat the pizza. Hence, I had to negotiate with the head of department of food and nutrition in order to use
the oven to heat the pizza. As the teacher was convinced with the purpose of using the oven, she had gave me the
permission to use it.

Another way in which I had to use negotiation skill for my project is when I had to negotiate with my parents
regarding the cost of my enterprise project is when I had to negotiate with my parents regarding the cost of my
enterprise project. Therefore, I needed to purchase ingredients and I had not received all the money from the
customers. Hence, I had decided to negotiate with my parents by showing a forecast of my financial plan regarding
my project.

Creativity
As I was making pizza and it was supposed to be hot, I had to search for a type of packaging in which the pizza will
resist and it won’t cost me much money. I had used my creativity in order to make my project a bit attractive. So
for the packaging of the pizza I had made paper box in which I had put the pizza when selling them. They were
resistant and safe for the product and they didn’t cost me much for the materials.

Since I had to make around 60 paper boxes, it was very time consuming as in 1 day I had to make the boxes.
Without the help of my mom I won’t be able to accomplish it. On the day I was needed to sell my product I was
able to make all the 60 paper boxes.
