TEDOM Gas Treatment Units

Gas treatment units – JSP & JUP units
These are technological devices securing the modification of gas to the
parameters optimal for combustion in the CHP unit.

 JSP unit
- reduces gas humidity

 JUP unit
- reduces gas humidity
- reduces H2S content in gas

 Application
- for gases with about 100% humidity
- for gases containing sulfur in form of H2S

TEDOM Gas Treatment Units

Advantages of the unit
 Reduction of gas humidity:
- reduction of corrosion at metal components of CHP unit gas system
and combustion engine
- increase of function reliability at gas line components – filters, gas
valves (reduction of corrosion, reduction of condensate freezing up)
- reduction of condensate appearance in intercooler
- partial reduction of H2S content in gas (dissolution of H2S in
condensate)

 Reduction of H2S content in gas:

- reduction of acid environment and thus additional reduction of
corrosion at metal parts of gas inlet, engine and parts of exhaust line
- extension of engine oil service life

Gas Treatment Units
 Main parts:
base frame, roof
gas cooler (pipe exchanger)
recuperation exchanger (pipe exchanger)
chiller (liquid cooler)
desulfurization tank

 Option:
blower

TEDOM Gas Treatment Units

JSP unit function
1. gas cooling about 20°C in cooler – gas
cooling is secured by chiller, liquid
cooled to 7°C is led to pipe cooler,
where it takes over the heat from gas

2. separation and drainage of condensed

humidity on the cooler outlet – separation
of water spray is secured by the demister
located in cooler outlet chamber

3. gas heating about 10°C in recuperation

exchanger = gas drying + partial
removal of H2S

TEDOM Gas Treatment Units

JUP unit function
 the same as JSP + point 4:

1. gas cooling about 20°C in cooler

2. separation and drainage of condensed

humidity on the cooler outlet

3. gas heating about 10°C in recuperation

exchanger = gas drying + partial removal of H2S

4. reduction of H2S content in desulfurization tank – using

adsorption capacity of active carbon

Blower function (optional equipment)

1. blower allows to increase the gas

pressure to the value suitable
for optimal combustion
in CHP unit engine

2. blower output is automatically

controlled by the frequency
converter to keep the constant
pressure at the inlet into the CHP unit

Basic technical parameters
1. series for CHP units with el. output about 200, 400, 800 and
1200 kW
2. optimal parameters of gas on the inlet: temperature 30 – 45°C,
humidity 100%, pressure -5 to +10 kPa, recommended
concentration of H2S ≤ 400mg/m3
3. parameters of gas on the outlet: temperature 25 – 35°C,
humidity ≤ 60%, pressure loss 1,2 – 1,5 kPa, concentration of
H2S about 200 mg/m3 (Note: see total adsorption capacity)
4. outdoor design, ambient temperature -15 to +35°C,
5. power supply 400V, 50Hz

Complete technical parameters – see technical specification

News
 Completed:
- previously offered JCP unit (unit for gas cooling) was removed from
the offer. It´s function is replaced by the JSP unit, which reduces the
electrical energy consumption needed for cooling and increases the
operation reliability of whole technology by gas drying
- implementation of adjust-able by-pass of blower which allows to set up
the optimal operation point

 Under construction:
- operation monitoring – installation of diagnostic sensors with the
possibility of remote monitoring of the unit operation through CHP unit
control system, data recording into history...
- for versions with blower – implementation of remove-able blower
isolation to minimize condensate creation in winter operation
