Jordan's overall grade places him in the extending category related to the content, concepts, and competencies in
BC First Peoples 12.
Jordan demonstrated the ability to use evidence to make reasoned ethical judgements about actions and events
regarding Indigenous people in British Columbia and Canada.
Next steps for Jordan would be to continue to extend and deepen his understanding of Indigenous issues in

ENGLISH STUDIES 12 Term: 87% (A)

Final: 87% (A)
Karen White

Throughout the semester, students have been responding to a variety of thematically linked texts in critical,
creative, and reflective ways, exchanging ideas to build understanding, and using the writing and design process
to create original texts.

A positive attitude toward learning contributes to Jordan's success. He demonstrates the ability to notice details
and infer meaning in a text, then communicate ideas with growing sophistication when speaking or writing. Going
forward, Jordan could develop ideas with greater complexity and style.

FRENCH 12 Term: 98% (A)

Final: 97% (A)
Curtis Penner

This semester in French 12, students have worked on continuing to develop their language skills to a intermediate
level. This included understanding and responding to stories and other texts; being able to communicate in a wide
variety of ways using the past, present and future tenses; as well as understanding how to adjust the language to
reflect different purposes, registers, and grammar rules. Students also had the opportunity to explore regional
variations in French, the influence of French on the Métis Indigenous (Michif) language, and cultural elements of a
Francophone country. The final mark in this course is a blend of course assessments (80%) and the final story
project (20%).

Jordan is able to consistently and effectively:

- Explore and interpret a wide variety of texts
- Derive and negotiate meaning in a wide variety of contexts
- Make word choices and adjust register to express intended meaning
- Express themselves effectively, with increasing fluency and accuracy, both orally and in writing
- Explore cultural expression in diverse communities

Jordan has worked very well in class and is encouraged to continue French studies in the future, such as through
the government funded Explore program or at a post-secondary institution. In addition, the Abbotsford School
District will be offering the internationally recognized DELF French language exam certifications at the A2/B1
levels in April 2024 - more information to come if Jordan is interested. Bonne chance à l'avenir!
