Pls comment about what is mentioned in the Creed about Jesus descending into hell.

First of all it's worth noting that hell comes from an old English word helle which is really
capturing the Greek idea of Hades. When we read the New Testament, we should
distinguish between Hades on the one hand and Gehanna on the other. When Jesus
speaks of the torment of the damned he always references Gehanna. Whereas Hades
is the abode of the dead. It translates the Hebrew notion of Sheol where the righteous
and the unrighteous go in different compartments. To recognise that in 1 Peter and
again 2 Peter 3 Jesus descended into Hades – the abode of the dead. And that's where
the righteous in the Old Testament are awaiting the Messiah. The souls of the faithful
departed there are waiting for deliverance and Jesus preaches to them. Jesus goes
down and proclaims the victory over death to the souls of the faithful departed. He takes
captivity captive as Paul says in Ephesians.
