1. Pupils are divided into groups of 4 or 5 and each group is given the names of places (e.g.school, hospital,
football stadium, petrol station, beach)
PRE-LESSON
2. Pupils must write the rules for one of the places assigned to them and then read out the rules to the class,
while the other groups repeat the rules and guess the location.
3. Pupils brainstorm a list of environmental problems, and a list is created on the board.
4. Pupils are given a worksheet on 15 different types of environmental problems.
5. Pupils discuss briefly as a class each environmental problem on the list so that everyone understands.
6. Pupils match 15 environmental problems to 15 images that suit the descriptions

7. Pupils compare answers in pairs before discussing as a class.
DEVELOPMENT
8. Pupils work in groups of 3 or 4 to discuss what should and should not be done to protect the environment by
listing at least 1 do’s and don’ts’ for each of the 15 environmental problems.
9. Pupils write the list on a mahjong paper.
10. All groups present their ideas to the class for peer feedback.
11. Pupils discuss with a partner 1 thing they have learned about protecting the environment.
POST-LESSON
12. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
