▪ In September 2015, the General Assembly of the
United Nationsadopted the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development that includes 17
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
▪ Building on the principle of “leaving no one
behind”, the new Agenda emphasizes a holistic
approach to achieving sustainable development for
all.

▪ The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also
known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the
United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to
end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by
2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
