insulated massless strings, each 100 cm long. If the particles are in equilibrium and are located at
the corners of an equilateral triangle of side length 3 cm, the charge q on each particle is

3.17 × 10−𝛾 C . Value of 𝛾 is _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

Q2. A non-conducting ring of mass m and radius R is charged as shown. The charged density i.e.
charge per unit length is . It is then placed on a rough non-conducting horizontal surface plane.
At time t = 0, a uniform electric field 𝐸⃗ = 𝐸0 𝑖̂ is switched on and the ring start rolling without

𝛽
sliding. The friction force acting on the ring, when it starts moving is 𝑓𝑠 = 𝑅 𝛼 𝐸° 𝑖̂ . Find the value

the rod has linear charge density – and the right half (CB) has + , where  is constant . A large
non conducting sheet of uniform surface charge density  is also present near the rod. Initially, the
rod is kept perpendicular to the sheet. The end A of the rod is initially at a distance d. Now the rod
