Viettel's Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths:

1. Finance: Viettel has abundant and stable financial resources, with equity of
about VND 50,000 billion. The group's investment activities are mainly
from self-reliant capital, with little need to borrow from banks.
2. Company culture: focus on building a corporate culture, have a clear
business philosophy, rules, scientific rules, logos and business approach
criteria "for customers first, for me later".
3. Company image: Viettel builds an image associated with social
responsibility, which is highly appreciated by consumers. Implementing
many meaningful programs, oriented to the community, contributing to
creating sympathy with customers.
4. Organizational structure: Viettel operates under the model of parent
company - subsidiary, management and administration in a centralized -
democratic form. This structure helps Viettel be autonomous in decision-
making and flexible in operation.
5. Market share: Viettel accounts for a large market share in Vietnam's
telecommunications market, accounting for 56.5% (2023). Continuing to
expand to the international market, business activities in 10 different
countries on 3 continents.
6. Brand: Viettel is one of the most famous brands in Vietnam in the field of
post and telecommunications services. Viettel becomes the 2nd strongest
telecommunications brand in the world according to Brand Finance's
ranking (2024).
7. Operational efficiency: Viettel has a rapid growth rate of 5.4% (2023), far
exceeding the set target. Revenue, profit, number of subscribers, and
broadcasting stations have all grown impressively over the years.
8. Human resources: Viettel owns a team of young, dynamic and creative
employees, making an important contribution to the success of the group.

Weakness:

1. Operating time: Viettel was born later than competitors such as VNPT,
Mobifone, Vinaphone.
2. Plans and strategies: Viettel invests widely, does not focus on depth, needs
specific plans for research.
3. Human resources: Viettel still has some limitations in human resources
such as recruitment, training, and employee care.
4. Customer care: Some employees at Viettel's branches are not really
enthusiastic and professional in supporting and answering customers'
questions.
