1.1 Motivation (150 to 200 words)
Gardening in the modern age means making things more complicated and
arduous, with electrons, bits, and bytes. Combining microcontrollers and gardening
is a really popular idea. I think that’s because gardens have very simple inputs and
outputs that are easy to wrap your head around.
I guess people (myself included) see a notoriously simple and relaxed hobby and
can’t help but feel compelled to overcomplicate it..

Most plants have simple needs. As guests go, they're relatively undemanding.
There are only three basic things you need to understand before you decide to
invite a plant home: light, water and air. If you can master these four elements,
from a plant's perspective, you can create an indoor garden just about anywhere in
the world and during any season of the year
1.2 Scope (In terms of SDG addressed) (100 to 150 words)
Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of India and contributes to
18 percent of India's GDP. The irrigation system used determines the quality of the
yield and affects the sector. The conventional irrigation systems used in major

parts of the country do not provide the optimum yield for crops. The main
objective of the project is to develop an Automated Watering and Irrigation
System that can be used to improve the conventional systems. The project is not
only restricted to the agricultural field but can also be implemented at our homes
or at commercial establishments having accommodation for lawns and plants.

1.3 Objectives (2 to 4 points)

• In This Plant Watering System, Soil Moisture Sensor checks the moisture
level in the soil and if moisture level is low then Arduino switches On a water pump to
provide water to the plant.

•Water pump gets automatically off when system finds enough moisture in the soil.

•Whenever system switched On or off the pump, a message is sent to the user
via bluetooth module, updating the status of water pump and soil moisture. This system is
very useful in Farms, gardens, home etc.

•This system is completely automated and there is no need for any human
intervention.

1.4 Need for Product Realization (2 to 4 points)

* Production Realization is what the product will be. The need is to clearly
develop a plan to create a product which meet the requirements of the prototype.
* The whole system which we have framed can be integrated into a small
compact product.
