As a skilled behaviour interventionist I would like to help the residents at Elmwood

Park House succeed at finding and engaging in individualized recovery plans. My

current experience as a behaviour interventionist advocates I excel at implementing
individualized support strategies that are client specific, and reinforced by
scientifically validated evidence.

My degree in psychology has contributed to my knowledge of behaviour, addictions,

developmental disabilities, mental illness and mental health promotion. However,
my previous careers in respite care have afforded me the luxury of working with
individuals of all ages, background, and ability levels.

I have had the amazing opportunity of working with children with developmental
disabilities and varying levels of challenging behaviors for the past year, under the
supervision of several Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA). This experience
has opened my eyes to the lack of behaviorally supported programs that are in place
for individuals with complex needs and the benefits of these programs for improved
quality of life.

I am passionate about the work I do not only because I see results in the populations
that I work with but because addictions and mental illness also affect my family on a
personal level. I would be honored to work for Alberta Health Services as an
Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker to afford the community with client
focused care and services that will promote autonomy and improve their quality of
life.
