Principle/Theory:

The time taken for a half the atoms in a given sample to decay is called half-life (t) in this
experiment it is obtained from a decay curve

Procedure:
1. 100 cm of wire were measured and cut
2. The diameter of the wire at three different points were measured and the average
diameter was found .
3. The wire was taped down to make the meausuring and handling of the wire easier.
4. Alligator clips were placed 200cm apart .
5. Resistivity was measured using a multimeter .
6. The distance between the clips were inceased by 10cm until the clips wre 100cm apart
and the resistance was recorded at each increase .
7. The power supply was set to 5v .
8. Steps 3 to 6 was repeated using meters to measure the voltage and currect at each 10cm
increase .
9. All the data was tabulated .
10. The data from 3 to 6 was usede to plot a graph and the data from step 8 was used to
calculate resistance at each interval and then a graph was plotted to determine resistivity
of the wire .
11. The resistivity of the wire found was used to determine the material of the wire .
