GET.Trakka System Description
The GET.Trakka System is a purpose-built, industrial IoT solution for monitoring G.E.T. on mining
machines. GET.Trakka actively monitors the G.E.T. fitted to a machine, and generates an alarm when
G.E.T. detaches from the bucket, enabling operations to be stopped, and lost G.E.T. to be located
prior to entering a crusher.
To achieve this, a wireless, consumable sensor is fitted to each G.E.T. component in a small sensor
recess or cavity. These battery-powered sensors transmit a radio signal containing data such as
sensor ID, G.E.T. component ID, orientation, activity, etc.
G.E.T. sensors are activated and assigned index positions during the G.E.T. fitting process, using a
hand-held Portable Reader. Two permanently mounted Bucket Sensors are also installed on the
digger bucket to provide the system with bucket identification and operational metrics. The sensor
activation process transitions the Sensors from a low-power sleep state to an active transmission
state, while also assigning each Sensor with their G.E.T. component type and index position on the
machine.
The Portable Reader is also used in Search Mode to assist in locating any lost G.E.T..
Each shovel or excavator is installed with the GET.Trakka machine system, a modular system that
collects, processes and stores all data from the sensors. An array of antennas installed on the
machine frame receive the signals from the sensors, and on-board algorithms reliably determine
when a G.E.T. has been lost. The on-board algorithm monitors for two distinct types of G.E.T. loss
events:
• Movement Alarms are triggered when a G.E.T. has been detached from the bucket,
transmitting a stationary signal while the remaining G.E.T. are still in motion;
• Proximity alarms and triggered when no signal is received from a lost G.E.T., a Proximity
Alarm will be triggered. This occurs when the detached G.E.T. has been buried or removed
out of the operating area by a truck.
The operator is notified of the G.E.T. loss event via the small in-cab Alarm Module. The Alarm
Module is a simple push-button LED lamp design, and is installed in the machine cab within view of
the operator. On detection of a component loss, the red LED will flash, and an audible alarm is
triggered.
All sensor data, alarm data and Alarm Module interactions are time stamped, stored locally and
transferred over the mine wireless network to CR’s secure remote server. The system is designed to
detect G.E.T. loss and alarm on-machine, regardless of the connectivity to the mine network. The
transfer of data back to the remote server enables the enhanced functions of Client Web Dashboard,
email notifications and G.E.T. metrics reporting.

Project
The Project will consist of:
• Phase 1: Preparation and Mobilization
This involves the configuration of hardware, pre-install inspection visit and set up of site
network infrastructure
• Phase 2: Installation and Commissioning
Installation and commissioning of the GET.Trakka solution.
Tuning of the system to the specific operating conditions is performed remotely in the 2 weeks
following the installation.
• Phase 3: System Go-Live
Enabling alarms for the operator.
• Phase 4: Completion
KPIs
The performance of the system will be assessed against the following KPIs:

Support Commitment for Installation
The on-site installation of GET.Trakka is completed in standard scheduled maintenance downtime,
normally requiring 2 CR Digital technicians to have access to the machine for one 12 hour shift.
• Detailed photos of the machine identifying potential equipment mounting locations, power
connections, network connections, and cable paths
• Measurement of cable run distances and required wall penetrations
• Any custom brackets to be fabricated by site (if / where required) to CR design specifications
once equipment mounting locations are confirmed.
• Auto electrician
• Boilermaker for first shift
• Crane and operators, plus maintenance fitter to remove G.E.T. (teeth and shrouds)
During the installation, CR will require:
• Remote access to CR personnel to the site team as required for installation and support
• Access to the machine for installation and commissioning
• Auto-electrician to provide power and network connection on the machine
• Scheduling of training sessions for G.E.T. crew and operators
The customer will provide 1st level auto-electrician resources to replace components, or assist with
remote diagnostics, as needed from time to time.
The customer will have G.E.T. specialists trained in GET.Trakka sensor replacement, and to insert
G.E.T. sensors and configure sensors as lip shrouds are replaced.
