Please Note that the QXi200 must be orientated so that it is facing upwards. This places the heatsink or vanes
into a vertical position, which promotes proper air convection for cooling. If the vanes are in a horizontal
orientation or are lying flat, then airflow is greatly reduced, and this will limit how much heat can be dissipated
to cool the system effectively.

Battery Replacement
The on-board flash and EEPROM memory is non-volatile and does not require a supply of power to it in order to
maintain the integrity of the data stored with in it. The on-board SRAM, however , requires appropriate battery
backup power at all times to maintain its contents when the mains power is not present. Additionally, certain logging
functions such as intrusion events must be monitored when the mains power is off.
The QXi-200 has 3 high power density Lithium CR2032 3V batteries. These are non-rechargeable; however, they are
only utilized when the main system power is off. All the time the power is provided on the +12v input batteries will
not be used. When new, each battery has a capacity of 22mAh.
BAT1 powers the system RTC and also the security /logging processor functions. With continuous use , this battery
has a typical lifespan of approx. 5 years.
BAT2 and BAT3 power the two onboard SRAM devices. SRAM standby current varies depending on the model of
SRAM device being used, but for a 16Mb device it typically 1.5uA. When using CR2032 cells this provides a calculated
battery lifetime in excess of 16years, assuming the system is never switched on.
These come fitted as standard in all machines. Please not they are NOT rechargeable batteries, and No attempt
should be made to recharge them.
The NRI v² eagle™ coin validator sets standards with its high security and highly
flexible architecture. This 5” format coin acceptor offers MFT (Multi-Frequency
Technology) validation for the highest coin security available. With different coin
entry and sorting options, this is our most flexible solution. The anti-jam sensor for
quick coin insertion makes this the ideal unit for a wide variety of applications where
speed is important.
With manipulation protection, modular construction, and unique MFT validation
technology, this validator will continue to set the standards in the 5” category for
years to come. Created for use in slot and amusement machines, it is now widely
used in vending and transportation applications.
DES Stands for Data Encryption Standard (DES) is a block cipher algorithm that takes plain text in blocks of 64 bits and
converts them to ciphertext using keys of 48 bits. It is a symmetric key algorithm, which means that the same key
is used for encrypting and decrypting data.
Blueprint machines use the Dip switches on the coin mech to enable DES pairing. Should you need to replace the
coin mech with an exchange coin mech it will be necessary to pair the machine software with the coin mech, this is
to secure the communication between machine and its peripheral.
This entails putting the coin mech in to “Trusted mode “to allow the first Key command from the machine. Once this
has been achieved and set up correctly the key exchange is automatic between the machine and coin mech. The Key
automatically changes at regular intervals (defined by the machine) this
keeps the comms line secure.
SCH 5 Hopper
The SCH 5 Hopper should give many hours of use without issue, however due to handling a lot of coins the optical
sensors can become dirty over time, therefore we encourage some planned maintenance of these units.
Opening Unit
Now you have separated the Hopper and the bowl, carefully lift the Hopper out of its casing for maintenance
or replacement.
Take care not to strain or pull on any plugs / cables that pass through to the circuit board on the underside of
the hopper.
If the Hopper is to be replaced it must be with an SCH5 hopper not an earlier SCH 3
The hopper is DES encrypted. Therefore, if being replaced it will require putting into “Trusted Mode” to allow
the machine to begin communicating to it.
To clean the sensors inside the light guide, use an air duster and a swab wit h some mild detergent to remove
any grease or dirt that might obstruct the light beam.
Cleaning with a brush: It is possible to remove majority of the dust and dirt which has built up on the Compact
Hopper using a brush [image d below]
Cleaning with a soft cloth: Further cleaning can be achieved by using a soft cloth with mild detergent
[image e below]
Cleaning the Light Guide: Cleaning of the Light Guide can be done either using a lint free cloth with mild
detergent [image f below] or using a lint free polyester swab.
Once complete, re-assemble the hopper and test to ensure that the hopper functions correctly.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The Compact Hoppers depicted in these images show a Clear Light Guide, this is for illustration purposes and
these instructions can be followed for all Light Guide types.
This board allow you to connect a 3rd party Data Capture system
or EDC box to your machine.
I.O Board
The I.O board Illustrated below is mounted in close proximity to the Quixant PC.
Its main function is to act as a central distribution board for items such as speakers, switches, hoppers etc
around the machine.
The Quixant feeds its outputs and interrupts from the J plugs into the I.O board.
The circuit will then divide the relevant feeds directing them to the correct plug for distribution around the
cabinet via individually named plugs. This makes it an ideal point to use for fault finding should you suspect you
have a wiring or switch problem.
Note Acceptors
The Genie was sold in a Note acceptor Ready configuration this means a note acceptor or note recycler is not fitted
however the machine has a universal wiring loom to allow either an Innovative note recycler fitted such as the
NV9,11 or 12. Or a Vega unit manufactured by JCM to the machine.
Printers
The Genie is capable of processing tickets as part of a Tito System. The metal work in the cabinet will allow the
fitting of the following printers: -
• ONYX
• Gen 2
• Gen 5 (current model)
The Gen 5 printer features a Keypad with LED status indicators and a Feed Button.
The printer status indicators include a front bezel light and the four keypad LEDs. Refer to the
table below for GEN5 Status codes
Most printer errors occur due to paper running out or user intervention. Below is a table that refers to error
descriptions and recommends solutions.
These printers use Fanfold paper and its essential that the paper is inserted in the correct orientation to ensure
trouble free printing.
As with all other moving parts that deal with environmental changes and either accept or print out, we highly
recommend a regular Preventative maintenance programme to ensure many hours of trouble-free operation.
• Perform the cleaning card method approx. every 3 months (dependant on use)
• Manual cleaning should be performed every six months (dependant on machine use)
Card Method
1. Slide the printer out of the Machine.
2. Remove tickets from the printer’s paper tray.
3. Verify the printer is powered on.
4. Remove the cleaning card from its package.
5. Insert the cleaning card into the ticket slot from the loading area of the ticket.
6. Press the Feed button to pull the cleaning card through the paper path.
7. Remove the cleaning card from the printer.
8. Turn the printing card over
9. Repeat steps 5 through to 7 for a second cleaning cycle.
10. Reload the tickets.
11. Feed at least 2 tickets through the printer to wipe off excess moisture on the print head.
Manual Cleaning
Use the following procedure for Manual cleaning of the printer.
Community Setup
EdgeRouter X Set-up
The EdgeRouter X should be fitted externally to the community set of machines, and a cable should run from the
router to each machine.
Network ports are available on the rear of most cabinet types, on cabinets that do not have ports on the rear of the
cabinets it may be required to remove a panel on the rear of the machine and plug the network cable into one of the
Ethernet ports on the Quixant PC.
NOTE: It is advisable that the Router is set to a separate power outlet to the machines and is always left on even if
cabinets are rebooted. On initial set up it is advised to power up the router 30 seconds before the machines.
Port Usage
Ports eth1, eth2, eth3 and eth4 can be used for machines, eth0 is only to be used where the router is being used as a
switch to expand your existing network.
Machine Set-up
The machines are already configured for community operation, nothing else should be required to set them up. The
machines will automatically decide which machines will be the server and which will be the clients on boot-up.
If any of the community set report: “cannot connect to community server” please check your IP addresses as per the
section below.
IP Address Setup
The machine IP address can be found from the Machine Setup pages of the test routines.
(TEST>MORE TESTS>MACHINE SETUP) The IP address is made up of 4 groups (octets) of numbers. The first 3 groups
need to be the same on all the machines for them to communicate with each other.
Generally, the machines should automatically be assigned IP addresses on the same subnet; Via DHCP, which is
enabled by default.
If your IP address starts with 169 then it was unable to talk to the DHCP server to be assigned an IP address, if you are
running the router in standalone mode the machine may be plugged into a WAN port and not a LAN port.
If you are using the router as a switch to expand a site network, you may not have a DHCP server and may be required
to fix the IP addresses. This can be done from by pressing ‘IP CONFIG’ on the ‘MACHINE SETUP’ screen.
Untick DHCP and enter the required network settings, you must save changes and then reboot the cabinet for these
settings to take effect. You may need to contact your own IT department to find out IP ranges and requirements.

Site Details
This enables the operator to insert the following information which is used for machine internet access:
This information cannot be changed once set, so ensure that all information is entered correctly. If this information
is entered incorrectly or for machine movements, please contact Blueprint Machines technical support for more
help.
Machine Set-up
The first page of the machine set-up has various useful pieces of information available about the specific machine
and menu installed on it. Options available on page one are:
Protocol
For connecting an EDC (electronic data capture unit): As default the machine is supplied with Non–Data software.
Within machine set up the software can be switched to Data protocol. Once Data protocol is selected the machine
can only be operated when a Data port is connected to the RS232 port.
Blueprint machines are fitted with a 25-pin adaptor board to plug your EDC unit into directly. This board is then
connected to the 9 pin RS232 comm port 5 on the Quixant PC.
Demo Mode
Enable demo mode to highlight features or to show customers how the game is played; to do this simply ensure that
the demo mode box is checked with a green tick and then press ‘save changes’ before closing the doors on the
machine.
Whilst in demo mode the machine will report ‘door open’ along the top of the bottom screen, and in each game a
red triangle with the word ‘Demo’ will be present in the top right-hand corner.
• Whilst in demo mode press the physical start button on the cabinet to add demo credit
• Press the red ‘demo triangle’ to bring up the demo options. Here you can choose a feature that you wish to
‘force in’ before pressing ‘set’, this will then enter the desired feature on the next game you play.
• Demo credit is cleared on exit of each game and does not add to meters or continue over to the actual
credit.
Tournament Mode
This option enables the tournament mode functionality to be used from the ‘managers options’ in the refill menu.
Simply check the box to enable then select several games that should be played in each tournament game.
Ping
Press here to ‘ping’ www.google.co.uk, this will check if the machine can access the internet. If this is a success the
machine will report: “ping www.google.co.uk successful XX ms” where XX is the time it took for the operation to
complete.
If this test fails, the machine will report “ping www.google.co.uk failed”, If this is the case, check your network
infrastructure to ensure the machine has access to the internet.
IP Config
Press this button to configure the network adapters, and to renew the IP address. In most scenarios DHCP should be
checked to auto assign the IP configuration.

In Credit Time Out
The default setting for the in-credit time out is 120 seconds, adjust this setting to change when a game that still has
credit will return to the game menu. When set to 0 the game will never time out in credit.
Enable MARs
This option is to be enabled where a machine is to be set up for use with the MARs system.
MARS is a software, accountancy and management tool that is an option provided by us to enable a
number of functions on your connected machines.
PLEASE NOTE, This function should only be enabled after discussion with your Blueprint Account
Manager to ensure you are eligible for this function.
Should you enable MARS and save changes without authorisation from Blueprint to do so, not only is
the process non reversable, but your machine will then begin a 30 day count down before it is
completely disabled and will require replacement software to become functional once again.
• All settings are as required, Float levels, stake options, game configuration etc.
• Site data from the Site data screen (TEST>MORE TESTS>SITE DETAILS) is filled in correctly.
To complete MARS set up, the following information should be entered into your local MARS server.
MARs Config
This option is for setting the server parameters that the machine requires to connect. i.e.
Mars Server name
URL
Port No
Enable Recycler
This option is used to Enable or disable the recycling of notes. Simply uncheck if you wish not to use the note
recycler.
Max Live Hopper level (or hopper divert level) is the maximum level the hopper will fill to during play. Coins inserted
over this level will divert to the cashbox as usual.
As with changing any float levels, if your new float levels are lower than your old ones, it is advisable to perform a
full dump after changing settings and ensuring that you dump any excess coins before re-floating. The values
displayed for coins and notes required show the amount required for a full float and the currency denomination
required.
Enable Challenge 18
With this enabled the machine asks for confirmation of over 18 age with Yes/No Response required.

when a bank of machines is present.
Group id
Ensure all machines in a specific bank use the same group ID, they should use 1 as default. If you have multiple
community sets on a single site network, then you should set each “set” of communities to a separate group ID.
Inhibit Configuration
Inhibit configuration allows the user to choose which coins/notes are accepted or inhibited in game mode.
A grey cross indicates that a denomination will be inhibited, and a green tick indicates that a denomination will be
accepted.
Token’s acceptance can also be enabled or disabled from here. Token credits cannot be collected and must be
played off, these need to be programmed on the dedicated token line of the respective coin mech.
