DAY 1:
oIn this Starting day of the workshop we discussed about
Flow Sheet simulation
oAnd its uses Underlying Physical Relationships in mass and energy balance,
equilibrium relationships and rate correlations
oAnd their advantages of simulation
Reduces Plant Design Time
Helps to Improve Current Process
oFurther we disussed about approaches to flow sheet simulation
Sequential modular
Equation oriented
Combination
oIntroduction to Aspen Plus
oImportant features
oAspen Plus process simulation model
• Also learned about process flow sheet, how to place blocks and streams
in the flow sheet and how to translate a process in Aspen plus process
DAY 2:

oIn this day we learned the types and its uses for Mixers Fsplit and Ssplit
oAnd also we learned how to do the connectivity for different types of
streams
oWe solved a problem based on different kinds of stream component,
Flow rate, temperature, pressure and vapour fraction
oHow to find the efficiency of heat exchanger distillation column and
height equivalent theoretical rate
DAY 3:

In this day we completely learned about separators

oWe learned about Flash 2 separator and how it perform vapour liquid or
vapour liquid liquid equilibrium and to specify liquid and solid entrainments
in the vapour stream liquid
oIn second we learned about Flash 3 it also perform like Flash 2 separator
and To specify liquid entrainment of each liquid phase in the vapour stream
oIn third, Decanter: Specifying key components for identifyimg the second
liquid phase and Optionally specifying the threshold key component mole
fraction

ALSO WE DONE PROBLEM BASED ON SEPARATOR

DAY 4:
▪ We have done solving problems that deals with the basic separation
process
▪ We discussed about pressure changers and its types like pumps,
compressor, multistage compressor and also heat coolers and its
types like heater, heatX, MheatX
▪ And their Flow sheet too
DAY 5:

• In this day we discussed about Reactors and Column and its

types and uses
• Flowsheet connectivity for Rstoic, Ryield, Requil,Rgibbs, etc..
• We solved problem in Reactor and Column
FINALLY ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
❖ This workshop was really useful. The presentation was really good,
it was easy to understand .
❖ Those five days was awesome, I wish it could extended for some
more days
❖ The coordinators conducted the workshop very well
