Requirements
 Weighting: 50% of the overall module mark
 Deadline: Exam date
 Final output
o A data collection instrument (e.g. questionnaire, interview checklist, observation plan,
etc.) on a small scale (about 300 words) and a summary of data (at least one page, see
example on page 71).
o Discussion (each member writes a part to make a complete discussion). Length: about
500 words/student (excluding visual aids). In the discussion, the students need to show
the ability to interpret some fundamental values (e.g. mean, median, mode, range) (see
chapter 8).

Marking rubrics
The tutors will be looking at the following criteria and the individual contribution to the
whole group’s work to give a group total and an individual total to each member. Marks are
NOT broken down for each of these criteria.

 Data clearly and precise presented; Organized logically
 Individual parts contributing to a comprehensive interpretation of the research findings

Results & Discussion


 Data clearly and precise presented; Organized logically; Important patterns or trends
emphasized; Quantitative data or statistics properly presented and integrated into text; All
tables and figures needed are well-prepared.
 Results clearly and concisely interpreted; Place of results in context of previous work
clearly and concisely described; coherent, logical organization; no repetition of results
Format and writing:
 A unified format and an academic writing style.
 Correct use of citations and APA referencing style
 Logical, smooth transitions; proper paraphrasing reference information
 Avoiding wordiness by using clear, concise sentences
