dynamic, results oriented and self-motivated candidate for the post of:

Mechanic (1 Position – Logistics Function Mbarara) – Band X-B

Responsible primarily for the upkeep and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers,
forklifts, and pickups.

Key Responsibilities:

 Diagnose the causes of vehicles problems and repair the same.


 Perform maintenance services.
 Liaise with the parts department to obtain required components.
 Carry out vehicle inspections, testing and safety checks.
 Document and maintain records of service work carried out on vehicles.
 Keep shop floor area clean and neat.
 Maintain and organize tools, equipment and manuals.
 Must have skills in the care and use of hand and power tools employed in all phases of heavy
equipment mechanical maintenance and repair work.
 Research technical manuals of vehicles in order to increase efficiency.
 Keep abreast of technical updates and improvements relevant to the job.
 Ensures services provided are in compliance with safety procedures
 Work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function

Competency Requirements but not Limited to:

 Diploma in Mechanical (ODM) or Diploma in Automotive


 knowledge in Electro- automotive diagnosis skills is an added advantage
 Basic computer literacy.
 Must have a minimum of 2 years hands on experience in a busy workshop for both trucks and light
motor vehicles.
 Basic understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
 High level of integrity
 Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime when required
 Must be prepared to attend to vehicle breakdowns after normal working hours
