Indonesian Notices to Mariners (IDNM) is prepared and broadcasted weekly by Pusat Hidro-
Oseanografi TNI AL (Pushidrosal), as a correction to nautical charts and other publications.
The Mariners strongly requested to notify immediately to the Pushidrosal on the discovery of
new hazards of shipping, changes or defects in aids to navigation and of shortcomings in
Indonesian nautical charts and other publications (Hydrographic Note on last page). To find

Announced to all ships sailing in Indonesian waters not to throw garbage, both
organic and unorganic, waste into the sea during the voyage and to keep storing
garbage in garbage bags that are on board the ship until it arrives at the port of call to be
dropped off. In order to be concern.

INSTRUCTION
1. The sailors immediately notify Pushidrosal and nearest Syahbandar when encounter
hazards of shipping, alteration or damage Marine Aids to Navigation as well as alack of
information on Indonesian Chart and other Nautical Publications.
2. Instruction forms and attachment are made to facilitate the sender and receiver, and should
be used or followed, if posible. Copy of this form can be obtained from the address
Pushidros TNI AL before hand or chart sales agent or the last page Indonesian Notices to
Mariners (IDNM) and website Pushidrosal: www.pushidrosal.id
3. When the position is determined by sextant angles or bearing (true or magnetic mention )
must use more than two lines of bearing for checking. Means used to measure the distance
to be mentioned (radar,etc). The inclusion of latitude and longitude is only used when the
position is determined using method of astronomical measuredments or GPS and a
detailed description of the measurement methods and equipment used must be explained.
4. Paper Chart: Pieces/footage on a large scale chart is the best medium to transmit detailed
information with changes or additions written in red. Preferably, if the appoinment of the
changes described using the largest scale chart (rather than the chart itself) and written in
red but the early details of written questions for the changes to the black unknown. ENC:
screen shot of the largest scale of display using band ENC with the information changes or
addition are written in red.
5. For depth reporting figures, the paper echosounder should be marked time information,
depth, etc and delivered along with a memorandum of the report. It is important to include a
description of the measurement setup is set echosounder depth below the surface or below
the keel and the value should be appended to the draft board. Clock and date of
measurement should be include to make corrections tide. Description manufacturer, name
and type of equipment, as well as the speed of sound propagation speed stylus and should
also be included.
6. The report can not be confirmed or lack certain details should not be saved and continue to
be reported. These deficiencies should be emphasized and reassured by the complainant
in order to obtain more info at next cruise.
7. Acceptance of the report will be published and the information received will action
immediately including the revision process. At IDNM assued, the name of the sender or the
vessel will be listed as the holder of authority.
8. If Hydrographic Note form not enough, the sender can added form including picture or
other information.
