*The online teacher training course I have taken was
entitled. Integrating Critical Thinking Skills into the Exploration of Culture in an EFL Setting Fall 2019.
Before talking about my experience as a community lead I
would like to thank our instructors Hannah Kusi and Kara Howard for their hard work and precious guidance all along our service. My thanks extend to all the other OPEN alumni for their hard work and priceless contributions. So, keep up the good work dear colleagues.
Having said that, I would describe my experience as a
community lead as Unique and exceptional. The feeling that there are other teachers somewhere else sharing the same daily experiences as me is really helping to overcome whatever challenges we may face. What’s more; My colleagues discussions helped me a lot of times to tackle things from different angles.
Concerning my role as a Resource Guru, I learned a very
important aspect which is TO always MAKE my DISCUSSION POSTs engaging and compelling. This can be done through for example sharing my own experience for other OPEN alumni to engage and empathize with my post. So, it’s very useful to mention for instance, the age and the level of students we are dealing with. Also, it is very helpful to clarify what other teachers can expect from the resource we are sharing. including open-ended questions to our posts can help other OPEN alumni to know exactly how to engage in the discussion. For example, we could ask a question like, "What are some strategies you use to attain your objectives?" So, Again, thank you for giving us this opportunity. See you very soon.
