FEWA New Guidelines - 2020
Please find the updated regulation to be follow for all your electrical drawing submission
Fan + Lights: -
Minimum load for normal light is 100W and for LED light is 35W. If it is more
than 35W for LED it will be as per actual load.
-Standard loads
Note: you can use actual load for all lights + industrial fans but it should be higher rating than the
standard load
FEWA NEW REGULATIONS – AUG 2020
-Standard loads
Note: you can use actual load for all industrial sockets but it should be higher rating than the standard
load
Water heater: -
- water heaters should be in separate sections without sockets or pumps; max 3 water heaters in one
section
Note: you can use actual load for all water heater but it should be higher rating than the standard load
· Each room air-conditioning unit shall be connected to a separate final sub-circuit, for the distribution
board.
· A maximum of one air-conditioning unit is permitted to connect on a three phase supply.
· A maximum of three air-conditioning units is permitted to connect on a single
ELCB of 100mA.
· For more than nine air-conditioning units, separate final distribution board to be
provided. For the load up to 40KW with 100Amp MCCB and more than 40KW final
DB not allowed, SMDB to be provided.
Note: you can use actual load for Ac Type (split + window + ducts + package units) but it should be
higher rating than the standard loads
General notes: FOR DUCT WIRES CCT = RCC in the External circuits + ARM cable
FEWA NEW REGULATIONS – AUG 2020
Sign board: -
Note: you can use actual load for sign board but it should be higher rating than the standard loads
Lift: -
Note: you can use actual load for lift but it should be higher rating than the standard loads
Pumps+ Motors: -
MCCB selection = (highest phase in KW ÷0.8) ÷0.24 = answer you got + add 10 A for safety

Use the cable sizes as per the ranges: Note we will follow the same copper cable provided below but we
will take the average as per provided
Note: this rating is applicable for distance 150-meter higher distance must be mention in the layout and it
might be changed as per provided table.

-In general, where the total connected load exceeds 250 KW, a plot for FEWA's
substation should be made. In some circumstances a substation may be required
for connected load less than 250 KW.
-Main Electrical Room should be adjacent to Transformer Room, cable route and
arrangement to be provided by consumer.
LV switch rooms must meet the requirements of the point of supply rooms listed
below.
Minimum Standard Size for main/sub electrical Rooms, you can select higher sizes per of the requirement+
number of requested meters.
Note: please select the appropriate electrical room size in case the owner will request for additional load
in future try to select the bigger dimension
Load Categories: -
· Single phase Smart Meter– used for installed load less than 12 KW.
·Three phase Smart Meter– directly connected to main system (20-120) A: used
for installed load from 12 KW up to 90 KW
·Three phase CT operated current Smart meters: more than 90 KW installed load.
FEWA NEW REGULATIONS – AUG 2020
-For commercial building please prepare one sheet shows the number of requested meters as shown in
the table below (example)
Need to show exactly how many meter requested in each floor with the total number of requested meter
for the proposed building
12 Chiller 100
13 Electric Cooker 100
14 Industrial machine 300
15 Elevators/ Escalators 300
16 Neon sign / sign board 300
