I. Market Opportunity

The Need for Better Online Work Tools

Because of COVID-19, lots of businesses have had to switch to remote work. But many small
businesses struggle to find good tools for working together online. Now, more than ever, there's a
big demand for easy-to-use online tools that help teams communicate, share files, and manage
projects. Businesses want solutions that make it simple to work together, even when everyone is
working from home.

Current Market Trends: Remote work is getting more popular. Surveys show that many
people want to keep working from home even after COVID-19. Apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams,
Slack, and Trello are getting really popular. They help teams talk, share files, and organize their work
online. Businesses are spending more money on software that helps teams work well together from
different places.

Hypothesis:

Because remote work is becoming the norm, businesses will want to invest in online tools
that make it easy for their teams to work together. They'll look for tools that are simple to use and
have all the features they need to stay productive, even when they're not in the same place.

This means that companies will prefer online work tools that are easy to understand, have
lots of useful features, and can grow with their needs as remote work becomes more common.

II. Hypothesis

The hypothesis is that as remote work becomes more common, businesses will invest more
in online collaboration tools that are easy to use and have many features. This hypothesis is
supported by several research findings and market trends:

1. Increase in Remote Work: According to a study by Gartner, 82% of company leaders plan to allow
employees to work remotely some of the time, even after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. This
indicates a long-term shift towards remote work. Additionally, a report by Upwork predicts that 22%
of the American workforce will be working remotely by 2025, which is an 87% increase from pre-
pandemic levels.
2. Growth in Virtual Collaboration Tools: The surge in the adoption of virtual collaboration tools
during the pandemic is well-documented. For instance, Zoom reported a 354% increase in revenue
in 2020 compared to the previous year. Microsoft Teams saw a rise in daily active users from 20
million in November 2019 to 115 million by October 2020. This growth reflects the urgent need for
businesses to adopt tools that facilitate remote work.

3. Business Needs and Preferences: Research by Buffer in their "State of Remote Work" report
shows that 99% of remote workers want to continue working remotely, at least some of the time,
for the rest of their careers. This high level of preference for remote work puts pressure on
businesses to invest in effective remote collaboration tools to retain talent and maintain
productivity.

4. Long-term Benefits of Remote Work: Remote work offers several advantages that businesses are
keen to capitalize on. A study by Global Workplace Analytics found that employers can save over
$11,000 per year for each half-time remote worker. These savings come from reduced overhead
costs, increased productivity, and lower absentees. Moreover, a PwC survey found that 83% of
employers believe the shift to remote work has been successful for their company.

5. User-Friendly Tools: The demand for user-friendly collaboration tools is driven by the need for
seamless integration and ease of use, which are critical for widespread adoption. Tools that offer
comprehensive features and intuitive interfaces help businesses ensure that their teams can
collaborate effectively without steep learning curves or integration issues.

In summary, the hypothesis is supported by data showing the sustained increase in remote work,
the rapid growth of virtual collaboration tools, the preferences of remote workers, and the long-
term benefits businesses gain from remote work. These factors collectively drive the demand for
investment in comprehensive and user-friendly online collaboration tools.
