SECTION – B
Questions no. 11 to 13 are very short answer type questions.

Q11. Calculate the volume of 34 g of NH3 at STP.

Q12. An organometallic compound on analysis was found to contain, C=64.4%, H=5.5% and Fe=29.9%.
Determine its empirical formula (At. Mass of Fe=56 u).

Q13. In photoelectric effect experiment, irradiation of a metal with light of frequency 5×1020 s-1 yields electrons
with maximum K.E = 6.63×10 -14 J. Calculate 𝜈0 (threshold frequency) for the metal.

SECTION – C
Question no. 14 is a short answer type question.

Q14. 4𝐾𝑂2 𝑠 + 2𝐻2 𝑂 𝑙 → 4𝐾𝑂𝐻 𝑠 + 3𝑂2 𝑔

If a reaction vessel contains 0.15 mol of KO2 and 0.10 mol of H2O,
i) What is the limiting reagent?
ii) What is the excess reagent?
iii) How many moles of oxygen can be produced?

SECTION- D
Question no. 15 is a case-based question.
Q15. Ionization energy is the minimum amount of energy that is required to remove the outermost electron
from an atom in the gaseous state. First I.E of an atom in an element is the smallest energy followed by
second and third I.E. In the spectrum of H-atom, we get different types of series of different wavelength
like Lyman , Balmar, Paschen, Bracket, Pfund and Humfris series. Human eye can visualize only the series
which falls in the VISIBLE region.
As per Bohr’s postulates regarding atomic structure, the angular momentum of an electron is an integral
multiple of h/2π. However , the Bohr’s atomic model is applicable for single electron system.

i) The wavelength of which series falls in the VISIBLE region?

ii) Calculate the energy required for the process.
𝐻𝑒 + 𝑔 → 𝐻𝑒 2+ 𝑔 + 𝑒 − , The I.E for the H-atom in the ground state is 2.18 × 10 -18 J /atom.

iii) What are the limitations of Bohr’s atomic model?
