We studied in Universidad TecMilenio, where there are many activities that are
extracurricular o vary depending the on the subject. Occasionally, we had to
participate and complete small projects related to the theories and knowledge
we learnt during our classes.

As first semester university students, we had difficulties adapting to the work

rhythm, as we came from different prep schools carrying different workstyles.
In the beginning we had problems adapting to certain activities or the time we
had to do them as we felt we had too little time doing them, so we had to work
quickly.

As time went by, we adapted the way we worked and studied in the university,
and our grades and knowledge began to grow.

There was a day where we had one project about making water guns with
simple materials, where the important thing was the method used and how we
did it, as we had to work by ourselves without the help from others.

That was one of our first activities that had great value, as it was like a test,
because of that we tried to work by doing our best so we could get good results,
and with that a good grade.
Report

Our classmates passed by, team by team showing the work they did, explaining
everything they had done and how were their procedures. We as a team were
very scared because our project was not functioning the way it should during
the preemptive tests we did, and we had no idea how to solve it at the moment.

After that, it was our turn to pass, we explained the way we worked the theory
and how we applied it in practice. It did not function as we would have wanted,
but it did the basic.

We commented about what happened, we could not explain why it turned out
that way, but in the end we realized that we lacked more effort to complete that
activity.

Finally, the class was over, each team passed and showed their work and gave
their feedback, our grades and what we should improve in a future project. We
understood that we could have done a better job and that to make things better,
we need good organization and working in form and time.

a. immediately
b. in the middle of the presentation
c. at the end of the presentation
Immediately, at the beginning of the presentation.

5. If you plan to share detailed information, you should give your

audience _____________.
Use formats, such as brochures, where a little more information is disclosed.
6. True or False: Audience dialogue is an interruption and you
should avoid it/stop it.
False, the dialogue must be handled and be at a certain moment, but this
serves to make the talk between the audience and the presenter didactic.

7. Summarize in your own words the author’s advice for using jokes
in your presentation.
The jokes can exist in the conversation, as long as they are moderate and
funny, they should not be directed towards a specific person, as well as not go
beyond professionalism.
