Tips & Tricks from Lexercise Therapists

"There were a lot of application questions wanting to know what you would do in
certain situations, usually based on school settings. I don’t know how you prepare for
that because the Reading Rockets website did not really cover much of that. I just
had to think through them. Though it was good to do the prep that Reading Rockets
had and the definition cards."

Ethics Questions:
Regarding the ethics questions, we suggest looking at the IDA KPS, see p. 11, Section #5 HERE. I
highly recommend Louisa Moats’ Speech to Print as a study guide for the KPEERI. Not only did
it give me an in-depth understanding of the domains of language processing in relation to
reading, but it also really helped me prepare for and pass the test. Reading rockets was also

Most of the questions are scenarios that require application. The Quizlet Exam Prep includes
a lot of vocabulary practice. Lexercise Courses were more helpful because they include

vocabulary and application. The Reading Rockets Modules were especially helpful to
prepare for the exam. (KPEERI taken August, 2022)

CERI certification process notes:

The Lexercise IDA AccreditedPLUS course sequence was granted accreditation before CERI
increased their requirements for the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist and
Interventionist qualification. Those who are completing the Lexercise course sequence
including Course 3 Practicum are eligible for the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist
certification.
