Master's programme

Computing Science
SHORT DESCRIPTION
Do you wonder…
• How to optimise the performance of the electricity network?
• How to use hospital data to improve the efficiency and quality of patient
care?
• How to develop correct and efficient software?

If you’re interested in questions like these, then the Computer Science

programme at might be it for you!

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Computer Science is a young field, that is rapidly evolving. As a professional,
it’s vital for you to stay up to date with the latest developments so that you
can use them to create innovations that improve our society. In the Computer
Science Master’s programme, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Computer
Science, which will form a common thread throughout your degree. This will
give you a solid foundation in the field and make you future-proof as a
professional or researcher.

In the Computing Science Master’s programme, you’ll learn more about the
algorithms and programming languages that power modern software
development. Also, you will learn the data-driven techniques and analytical
skills to create information-driven systems and applications for our diverse
society. You will apply this theoretical knowledge in your Master’s thesis.

STUDY PROGRAMME
The Computing Science programme consists of 10 courses plus a Master’s
thesis. Your programme consists of three mandatory courses to lay your
foundation, three electives of your chosen track, and four electives according
to your own academic interests. Within the programme, you select one

CAREER PROSPECTS
The combination of excellent knowledge of the concepts and
methods as well, as analytical and presentational skills, put
you in an excellent position for jobs in the IT domain, such as
software system designer, IT specialist, project leader or
consultant. If you are interested in being a researcher, you will
be well-equipped to pursue a PhD position in computer science
or one of its application domains, and for jobs in research
institutes and industrial laboratories. 'This Master's combines a strong theoretical
background, with real-world applications'

choice for this Master's, and with my progress and prospects so
far.
