A. PART I. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PHU CUONG GROUP

1. General introduction of Phu Cuong Group
Founded in 2016 as Phu Cuong Media and Technology Group Joint Stock
Corporation, Phu Cuong Group is a multidisciplinary company. In the heart of Hanoi,
Phu Cuong Group has an expensive site on the 29th floor of the Keangnam Lanmark
72 building. In 2017, Chairman Nguyen Cuong established Phu Cuong
Pharmaceutical Group Joint Stock Corporation and carried out real estate projects
across numerous regions. Phu Cuong expanded his business beyond real estate and
pharmaceuticals, into the food industry with Centalac nutritious colostrum and the
cosmetics industry with the launch of the C'N Cosmetics brand. Phu Cuong
successfully combined its subsidiaries in 2022 to form Phu Cuong Group. The Phu
Cuong Group employs a holdings strategy with the intention of acquiring control over
other businesses. Each Phu Cuong subsidiary will be in charge of a distinct and
frequently complimentary operation. In which Phu Cuong Group assumes the position
of a significant stakeholder in subsidiaries but does not manage the company directly.
Moreover, Phu Cuong is assisted by the holding model of Holdings in organizing and
reorganizing the ownership of member companies, perfecting the governance
structure, enhancing operational effectiveness, consolidating corporate value, and
maximizing tax planning. The division of the corporation will speed up investor
appraisal times and take individual investor preferences into account. Investors will
not be concerned about investing without knowing where their money is going. In
addition, the parent business of Phu Cuong can utilize Subsidiary B as collateral to
4
borrow money for Company C. As a result, companies with significant development
potential are well-capitalized to take advantage of opportunities and prevent chain
breaks, adding to the sustainability of the Phu Cuong Group.

Diagram 2: Working plan for each week

a, Week 1
During the first week of my internship, I went to meet the manager, Ms. Tran Thi
Ngoc Huyen, to hear about her tasks. My department is Business Department. The
first week was spent learning about the Phu Cuong Group, its subsidiaries,
departments, and the functions of those departments. By the end of the first week of
my internship, I had to be familiar with Phu Cuong Corporation's structure and be
aware of its many departments in in order to advance efficiently.

7
b, Week 2
The second week of the internship is a time to observe the work of other employees in
the same department. The manager, Ms. Ngoc Huyen, also gave me the paperwork I
needed for the English translation at that time. At the end of the week, after hearing
the manager's feedback, our group provided the internship's full plan.
c, Week 3
The next week, I was trained on the company's products. Products from the group's
subsidiaries include: real estate products, cosmetic and medicinal products (Centalac
colostrum product) from Phu Cuong Pharmacy, the pharmaceutical-cosmetic company
of Phu Cuong Pharmacy. Phu Cuong Group and products of Phu Cuong Media, a
media company of Phu Cuong Group.

8
d, Week 4
The next week, I and the whole group practiced business communication skills. We
learned and practiced checking documents, reviewing data and preparing translation
steps.
e, Week 5
In the 5th week of the internship, I learned and practiced how to communicate with
customers on the phone. I have observed the sample communication process, read and
carefully studied the script, learned how to speak properly and how to handle
situations on the phone. There are many simulations of real-life customer
conversations, which is one of the hardest parts of the internship.
f, Week 6
I have had the opportunity to observe and listen sample negotiations with customers in
the following week. In addition to watching, the manager and the guide helped me and
shared more about negotiation techniques and fundamental knowledge. This is a
crucial competency for those working in sales.

9
g, Week 7 and Week 8
I've been learning the fundamentals of marketing and customer service over the past
two weeks, practicing with simulated situations.

2. Personal experience acquired through the training course (skills and

qualification gained from the internship)
Throughout a term of internship at the Business division of the Phu Cuong Group,
my manager and other employees helped me by sharing and instructing me in the

10
skills I needed to do the work and get the experience to reduce hazards at work by
learning from occurrences. I have watched and practiced essential business skills
including planning, conversing, and communicating with customers. By observing, I
may learn from my mistakes and improve on my next practice, though there are still a
lot of mistakes. With data gathering and the translation of pertinent papers, specialty
skills like translation are developed in addition to customer service-related ones. My
soft skills are also improved through sharing, training, and company presentations in
addition to my work skills. Also, I developed my ability to work well with others in
groups. This internship has taught me a lot of useful lessons that I can apply to my
career and to my personal life.
C. PART III. SELF ASSESSMENT
1. How have you improved after the internship?
During two months of internship work, I can observe my own growth in both
work-related abilities and knowledge as well as soft skills like public speaking
assurance, listening skills, and interpersonal persuasion. In addition, I have added new
relationships to my social circle. I can now interact with customers, tell them about the
company's offerings, and offer guidance. While learning how to translate correctly for
the job and how to gather text data at the same time, I still have a lot of limitations and
require additional assistance.
2. How has the internship influenced your future career plans?
Working at Phu Cuong Group and improving one's business English abilities is
wonderful. Both the working environment and the knowledge are somewhat recent.
Although I have remembered and used a lot of knowledge, especially in the area of
soft skills, I do not think this job is truly the best fit for the route I want to go in. My
true goal is the translation orientation, although during my internship at Phu Cuong
Group, I only practiced about 50% of that orientation.
3. What is the correlation between the internship and the knowledge and skills
you learned from the university?
The ability to present and collaborate with others are two examples of soft skills
that, in my opinion, have the strongest association between the knowledge acquired
during the internship and that obtained in school. Each member of the group must put
in the effort and adjust to the new environment, especially while working in groups
for group projects at school or group tasks at the workplace. Adding flexibility to the
work will aid in everyone in the team finishing it swiftly and effectively.
4. What do you want to train more?

11
One thing that cannot be disputed is the training in thinking, working methods,
and soft skills that I received during my internship at Phu Cuong Group, even though
the commercial knowledge gained there may not be particularly appealing to me. a
really good company. Observing the employees at Phu Cuong Group, I saw that while
I personally have a lot of weaknesses in the area of public speaking due to my own
inadequacy, they all exhibit a confident working style. This provides the organization
with excellent soft skill training. If given a second chance, I would like to further my
own soft skill training.
