L3. 2 Laboratory Exercise I

First of all we had to download proteus software to do this practical. We watched a instruction
video also about how to use this Multism software. And then we got a better idea how to use
this.

 L3.2

Firstly I got the three resistors 180 ohms. And I got three LEDs Red, Green and Yellow. And
then three 5V vsources and a earth wire and DC ammeter, AC voltmeter. I created three circuits
for each color of LEDs. I connected the circuit. Then I took a DC voltmeter and measured the
voltages in each of LEDs. I connected a DC ammeter to the each circuits as a series to
measure the current.

VOLTAGE 1.85V 1.75V 2.15V
CURRENT 0.01A 0.01A 0.01A

Comparison

In the Previous prelab work I got 160 ohms resistor to the red LED and 165 ohms to the
other LEDs both are green and yellow. Even though we had to take on the lab work resistance
are with respect to E12 series. Therefore I got 180 ohms resistors to do the lab work. Because
that is the approximate category to the 160 ohms and 165 ohms resistors. Therefore we have
a some sort of differences in the prelab work and lab work answers.

 L3.3

In this case also I got two 180 ohms resistors, two green color LEDs, 5V vsource, two DC
voltmeters and two DC ammeters. And then I connected the circuit. The DC ammeter I
connected as a series to the both of R1 resistor and LED1(likewise as the other one also). And
the DC voltmeter I connected to the LED1 as parallel(likewise as the other one also) After it
I measured the voltage across each LED and measured the current of each branch as show in
the image below.

In here also I took 160 ohms resistors to the red LED and 165 ohms resistors to the green and
yellow LEDs. Because same the reason that according to E12 series case. Therefore I got
slightly different answers with the prelab work.

 L3.4

First of all I got 555 IC. And then I got three resistor 10K ohms resistor, 820K ohms resistor
and 220 ohms resistor. And two 1μF capacitors, yellow color LED and 5V vsource. And then
circuit was connected. I got a oscilloscope to measure some kind of things which is required
for the calculation.

P-L3.4.2

The LED which is in this circuit it was blinking.

After creating the circuit, I measured the T on & T off using the cursor. By using those, I
calculated the duty cycle using an equation which was gives. Then I calculated the frequency
using an equation.
C-L3.4.1

And then I recreated the second circuit replacing 820K ohms resistor instead of 10K ohms
resistor and 470K ohms resistor instead of 820K ohms resistor. And then I did the same thing
what I done in the previous one. And here also LED blinked.

P-L3.4.3

P-L3.4.4
C-L3.4.2

There was a little difference with the previous calculation. Because I changed the resistance.
But, the LED was blinking as same as the previous circuit
