TITLE:
Installing Incandescent Lamps

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:
Given all the necessary facility, tools, equipment and materials, install an incandescent lamp based on
the layout plan and PEC requirements.
SUPPLIES/ MATERIALS:
● Incandescent lamp
● Wires
● Wire nut/electrical tape (plastic)
● Wood screw
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
● Pliers
● Screw Drivers
● Push/pull rule
● Marking tool
● Wires
● Wire stripper
STEPS/ PROCEDURE:
1. Get a copy of an installation layout from your trainer.
2. Based on the installation layout and specified task, prepare all the necessary tools, supplies and
materials.
3. Locate the mock-up where you are going to perform the task and start the installation.
● Lay out the required measurements based on the layout.
● Install electrical wirings starting from the circuit breaker at the panel going to the junction/
splice box and lighting switch and into the location where the fixtures will be installed.
● Install the lamp receptacle to the pre-determine location based on the layout.
● Perform wiring connection and insulate exposed wires.
● Install the lamps to the receptacle and make sure that the tip of base of the lamp is fully
fitted to the hot contact point of the receptacle.
4. For safety purposes have your trainer check your work before turning on the circuit.
5. Turn on the circuit breaker on the panel and lighting switch to check if the fixtures function’s well.
6. Clean up the workplace and return all tools, equipment and materials to the assigned storage area.
