Management at Safaricom Limited Kenya is the same as management at

America online (USA). Since both companies operate in the same industry. Do
you agree with this statement ? Explain.
Yes, I agree with the statement. One key principle of management is planning , which
is carried out in both companies regardless of their environment and is the same since
these two firms render the same services to the general public. Though the planning
strategies may differs according to size and environment of the firm. Therefore
America online (USA) will have large visions and huge planning than the planning
done at Safaricom Limited Kenya.

Additionally, management is similar at their organizational levels. Both companies

operate similarly in terms of their organizational structure. Where top managers act
as the overall leadership of the company, middle managers act as bridge between top
and bottom managers and the bottom managers are supervisors and conduct day to
day activities directly with the workers or rather staff.

Both Safaricom Limited Kenya and America online put into practice Fredrick
Taylor’s scientific management procedures; especially staffing. In this scenario they
both conduct official and scientific recruitment of workers. Where work vacancies are
advertised, candidates interviewed and the recruits trained accordingly. In this way
achievement of the firms’ objectives is assured.

Lastly in both, the paramount direction is from the main offices which are situated in
the respective Head-quaters of these firms. Progressively, more and more branches
are developed country wide or even worldwide for effective production of products or
customer services to ensure achievement of desired goals and objectives.

Thus to sum it all up, management is similar in both firms as both companies operate
under the same industry.
