NON AVAILABILITY OF BEDS POLICY

During non-availability of beds, admissions executive or staff informs the house keeping in-
charge to make arrangements for additional beds and revert the information to admissions
counter staff.

POLICY:

 All patients reaching the emergency department shall be provided with first aid and all
available life saving measures.
 In case of non-availability of beds at single, sharing & deluxe rooms patients shall be
placed in the Temporary Patient holding area till the beds are available as per the
entitlement.
 In case of absolute non-availability of beds, the hospital will take following initiative
according to case,
o ELECTIVE CASE: Patient is provided alternate date.
o EMERGENCY CASE: Transfer to nearest appropriate hospital after initial
stabilization. Hospital provides its own ambulance with nurse or doctor
depending on the need.
NON-AVAILABILITY OF REQUIRED BED

1. In case of non-availability of beds / rooms /emergency, care then;


2. We will try to make the Beds available by discharging the recovered patients on
priority, during this time patient will be kept in other available room.
3. if this is not agreeable to the patient he would be given the choice to chose his
hospital and ambulance will be provided ( service will be charged accordingly)
4. Temporary holding area is arranged to accommodate patients 6 hours mean while.
