6. In the figure, 𝐴𝐵𝐶 is a right angled triangle.If ∠𝐶 = 30°and𝐴𝐵 = 12 𝑐𝑚then find the length

of 𝐴𝐶

7. As observed from the top of a building standing vertically on the ground, the angle of
depression of a point ′𝐶′ on the ground is 60°. From the foot (𝐵) of the building when moved
through point ′𝐶′ in a straight line and observe the top of the building, from point ′𝑃′, if the
angle of elevation has to be 30° (as shown in the figure) then show that the distance moved
from ′𝐶' to ′𝑃′ is twice the distance 𝐵𝐶.

9) The angle of elevation of the top of an unfinished verticle building on a ground , at a point
100 𝑚 from the base of the building is 45°. How much height the building must be raised,
so that its angle of elevation from the same point [𝑇𝑎𝑘𝑒 √3 = 1.73 ]

11) From the top of a building 50√3 𝑚 high the angle of depression of a car on the ground is
observed to be 60° . Find the distance of the car from the foot of a building.

10. Find the angle of elevation, if an object on a vertical building of height 50 𝑚 which is viewed

from a point 𝑅 situated at a distance of 50√3 𝑚 from the foot of the building.

11. The angle of elevation of the top of a vertical tower from a point on the level ground which
is 50 𝑚 from the foot of the tower is 30°. Find the height of the tower.
12. The angle of elevation of the top of a vertical pole from a point on a horizontal ground is
30°. On walking 5 𝑚 towards the pole the angle of elevation is found to be 45°. Find the
height of the pole.
13. From the top of a vertical building of 50√3 𝑚 height on a level ground the angle of
depression of an object on the same ground is observed to be 60°. Find the distance of the
object from the foot of the building.
14. Two wind mills of height 50 𝑚 and 50√3 𝑚 are on either side of the field. A person
observes the top of the wind mills from a point in between them. The angle of elevation
was found to be 45°and 30°. Find the distance between the wind mills.

15. The shadow of a tower when sun’s altitude is 30° is 40 𝑚 longer than its shadow when the
sun’s altitude was 60°. Find the height of the tower.

16. A building and a tower are on the same level ground. The angle of elevation of the top of
the building from the foot of the tower is 30°. The angle of elevation of the top of the tower
from the foot of the building is 60°. If the height of the tower is 50 𝑚, then find the height of
the building.
17. From the top of a building 20 𝑚 high, the angle of elevation of the top of a vertical pole is
30° and the angle of depression of the foot of the same pole is 60°. Find the height of the
pole.
18. The angle of elevation of an aircraft from a point on horizontal ground is found to be 30°.
The angle of elevation of same aircraft after 24 seconds which is moving horizontally to the

ground is found to be 60°. If the height of the aircraft from the ground is 3600√3metre. Find
the velocity of the aircraft.

19. From the top of a building 50√3 𝑚 high the angle of depression of an object on the ground
is observed to be 30°. Find the distance of the object from the foot of the building
20. The angle of elevation of the top of a flag post ( 𝐴𝐵 ) from a point ( 𝐶 ) on a horizontal
ground is found to be 30°. On walking 6 𝑚 towards the post at 𝑋, the angle of elevation is
found to be 60° as shown in the figure. Find the height of the flag post.

21. A tower and a building are standing vertically on the same level ground. The angle of
elevation of the top of a building from the foot of the tower is 30° and the angle elevation of
the top of the tower from the foot of the building is 60°. If the tower is 50 𝑚 high, find the
height of the building.

22. A cable tower and a building are standing vertically on the same level ground. From the top
of the building which is 7 𝑚 high, the angle of elevation of the cable tower is 60° and the
angle of depression of its foot is 45°. Find the height of the tower. (𝑈𝑠𝑒 √3 = 1.73 )

23. The angle of elevation of the top of a building from the foot of a tower is 30° and the angle
elevation of the top of the tower from the foot of the building is 60°. Both the tower and
building are on the same level ground. If the height of the tower is 50 𝑚,Then find the height
of the building.

24. As observed from the top of a 75 𝑚 height light house from the sea-level, the angles of
depression of two ships are 30° and 45°.If one ship is exactly behind the other on the same
side of the light house, then find the distance between the two ships.

25. An aircraft flying parallel to the ground in the sky from the point 𝐴 through the point 𝐵 is
observed, the angle of elevation of aircraft at 𝐴 from a point on the level ground is 60°, after
10 seconds it is observed that the angle of elevation of aircraft at 𝐵 is found to be 30° from
the same point. Find at what height the aircraft is flying, if the velocity of aircraft is

648 𝑘𝑚/ℎ𝑟. ( 𝑈𝑠𝑒√3 = 1.73 )

26. A tower and a pole stand vertically on the same level ground. It is observed that the angles
of depression of top and foot of the pole from the top of the tower of height 60 𝑚 is 30° and
60° respectively. Find the height of the pole.

27. The angles of elevation of the top of a tower from two points at a distance of 4 𝑚 and 9 𝑚
from the base of the tower and in the same straight line with it are complementary. Find the
height of the tower.
