Instructions to RANZCP Mock Examination Candidates for Paper I

1. At the appointed time, candidates are asked to turn over the question paper and are
given 10 minutes to read the paper and make notes on spare paper, but not in the
examination paper booklet or on the EMQ answer sheet.

2. After the 10 minutes reading time, a further three hours are allotted to answer the
questions.

3. In this paper, all questions must be answered.

4. The paper is of 180 minutes duration and the total marks allocated are 180.

5. The Extended Matching Questions are answered on a separate answer sheet. You
must use the pencil provided. An eraser is provided if you wish to change your
answer.

6. You are advised to use a ruler as you go down this sheet to ensure that you are
entering each answer on the line of the correct question number.

7. Some questions in the Key Feature Cases ask you to select from a list—here you
must use the pencil provided. Where you are asked for a written answer you may
use either a blue or black pen, or the pencil provided.

8. Do not write on areas marked “office use only”.

9. At the end of the examination time, candidates must stop writing immediately.
